I am looking to possibly retire my Dad's Super Grizzly. I am looking at replacing it with either a Super Kodiak or a Kodiak Magnum as my main hunting bows. What are some of your guys learned opinions on each of these bows.
Thanks Matt

Those super grizzlies are great bows. Try using it for a while then switch after you do some more research. All your gonna get on here are opinions that may not suit you later.

Having a longer draw I usually go for the longer bow. I have had several SK's, both new models and Grayling versions, and 60" and 64" models. I liked them both equally well, but much preferred the 64" version. I have tried shooting shorter bows like the Kodiak Magnum, but they just were not for me. Again, I think it is mostly due to my 30 1/2" draw. Overall, the 64" SK is my favorite 1-pc bow.

I should have prefaced that I hunt in Florida. Mostly public land and from tree stands. An occasional stalk on pigs is always awesome but rare. I have hunted with dad's bow the last 2 seasons but my brother put in my head I should retire it after I killed a nice buck with it last season.

Tell your brother you dad would probably like his bow being a real bow, and not just an object to be looked at. If my dad had a bow and left it to me, I would use it until it broke or I croaked. Silly.

Now that I got that off my chest, I like the Super K overall, but still would use my dad's bow.

I own both , with my 29 inch draw I like the Super Kodiak better. Like the grip angle on the Kodiak Magnum better.

If you like shooting the Super Grizzly, why wouldn't you consider replacing it with a new Super Grizzly? I personally like the way the newer Super Grizzly's shoot and look.

Amen! Look for another vintage Super Grizzly in the same weight. I have three Grayling Super Gs.

Keep killin with it and make it proud! It may surprise you how long it lasts! But to stay on track try out a new super grizzly. Fantastic bows if you ask me and can be found slightly used for good coin. I'm not lucky enough to have a bow handed down to me by my father bc he didn't hunt. But if I did I'd sure rock it out! If it breaks then tape her up and hang it on the wall knowing it died doing what it was meant to do!!

I'm in the "keep using it" camp. However to be honest with you for most practical purposes I don't really see any significant shooting/performance difference between the 2 bows in question. I draw 28" and for the most part they both shoot basically the same.
