Hello everyone. I'm having problems with my bow. Out of at least a dozen shots my arrow goes crazy and my bow is making a noise like its dry firing. This has progressed more throughout the last month. There are no cracks that I could see and the limbs are snug. Thanks

Are you sure you are not setting your arrow above or below you nock by accident every now and then?

Give us more data, including your total set-up, weight, length, arrow type, etc., etc., etc. Can't even begin to know without more information. If possible, a video would be invaluable in figger'n it out.

Measure the brace height. String may have stretched.

Sounds like the arrow could be slipping off the string

Hope that You can figure this out REAL QUICK and that the bow is not suffering any damage! STAY SAFE & WELL!

Sounds like the string is being pulled back from the nock seat sometimes or you have a defective nock on one arrow. Shoot twelve and make sure the nock is seated throughout the shot.

Like previously mentioned more info is needed. However. In my experience the same thing happened to me a while ago and it was a 3 part problem. The first issue, was that I had been shooting my 52 lb recurve for several hours and I didn't realize I was fatigued. The first few hours the bow was silent then loud popping sounds because I let poor form take over with a sloppy release. The second was that the nocking points became loose and started slipping up the string causing erratic arrow behavior and when measured with a bow square the nocking points had risen a significant amount. Thirdly, my string did also suffer creep (well after it was broken in) and wouldn't maintain it brace height and had to can it.

That day was probably the most pivotal learning point for me on so many levels.

Just the sound and feeling of a dry fire leads me to lean towards loose nock on string, but like everyone else said...more data please.

A picture of your bow with the arrow nocked on the string would go a long way to arriving at an answer.

Check if you have points on all your arrows?

Is this bow new to you, did it come with a new (probably Dacron) string, and are you shooting it with that new string?

Check the arrow for cracks if it is wood or carbon or other material that can crack. Also all of the above. Is it the same arrow every time?

Sorry for lack of info my bad. Its a 2011 pch bw 57@27. I'm shooting 2016 with a 175 grain head.Spit finger, Brace height is the same. It has slowly progressed for the last two months to think about it. I shoot a lot. Cpl months ago I noticed it would do it like every 200 hundred shots now its doing it every 20 shots. Today I grabbed a old bear with the same arrows and glove and no issues with that old bow, thinking maybe it was my release from my old glove. Gonna send it to bw and see what they can do. Thanks everyone for the great info. Much appreciated! Oh yea been wanting to get a different bow months ago but am to cheap sometimes, now I can...lol

IS your bow a take down? Or one piece?. If its a take down, unstring it, and check to see if the limbs bolts are lose. It could be that you field points are lose also. If you have a bolt on quiver the bolts for the quiver could also be lose. Good luck finding what is making you bow noise, and arrows flying crazy. Let me know what is causing it. Take care, Buckhunter.

Do you draw 27" ? You might be right on the cusp of being to weak in spine and bouncing the shaft off the riser.

If your drawing 27" or more then your 2016 is way under spine. I would try a 2117 or 2216.
