How many of us stop shooting in hot, humid weather? Best I can do is a couple of shots just after sundown, before I get too sweaty. I hate shooting when I get sweaty! After a while, I just quit til about Sept.

I set up a couple flood lights and shoot after dark its usually nice and cool cause I can't go without shooting I love to shoot my bows ,and even enjoy shooting the ones I make even more so I will do what it takes to get to shoot them without drowning in my sweat...

Don't mind shooting in the heat, but my backyard target sits on the edge of the woods. When pulling arrows you better not linger too long or the mosquitoes will carry you away.

A.c. basement in the summer, heated basement in the winter! :-)

Heat, what heat? Wednesday it was 97 when I left the range at 1030 hrs. Shot 42 targets starting at 0730. Took breaks of course, drank 3 qts. water and qt. of Gatoraid. Will be like this till end of Oct.

I live in Alabama.... if I didn't shoot in the heat and humidity, I wouldn't shoot at all.

X2 what H Rhodes said. Its either shoot in the heat or not at all. You get use to it..

We mostly shoot the same year round. If it is above 90, we wait until sunset. If it is below 20, we might pass until it warms a bit.

Guys, come see me. i live on the North shore of Lake Superior, big, deep, cold,. Last couple months the best we could do is high 40's,this week we broke into the 60's come o up!

Heat slows me down to real slow motion, or a crawl sometimes, but I keep on shooting several times each week.

Used to help plant agricultural research studies in mid summer after I took a job at a university in my mid sixties before SS when the economy took a downturn for us old traveling consultants. Just left two years ago and realize I couldn't do that work anymore. Got the grad students to take a cold watermelon break in the afternoon, and those melons worked well to put us back together. On planting days, I would buy those large black diamond melons from local fruit stands and ice them down.

The summer is when some of those 3-Ds occur, so have to shoot some, but shoot more in Florida in the winter.

Hot weathers coming. My neighbors told me it was in the 90's a few weeks ago in the Adirondacks, but was very cool this past week. Slept with a blanket last night. In an airport reading LW now and heading to Japan and China for a week. Same weather there, sorta up and down with cool and warm.

May not shoot quite as long in the heat, but I shoot everyday I can. We go to 3D shoots all summer long.

Like most all southern or southwestern guys, if we don't shoot in the summer, we would not get to shoot outside very often. They say practice like you are gonna hunt so we do. October can still be a pretty danged hot month in Texas. Not unusual at all to have temperatures in the high 90's and high humidity as well. There is a 3D shoot in the western part of the state in July knows as the Mid Summer Meltdown. I hear tell one year it was so hot the wax was dripping off the bowstrings!

I got used to it many years ago here in Florida, now that I'm one of the old farts it takes it's toll, but if you don't shoot you won't because the nights are near 90 with 100% humidity......Ron

Life is too short to be finicky about the weather, go shoot.

I work outside at night. Ill shoot for an hour or so before dark .I'll take a shower then head to work. Its like a warm up for my shift . Here in the deep south its almost always hot and humid. November to February the weather can be a toss up .we will have the heat on during the night and the A\C on during the day.

I shoot as much but it takes longer. I have to sit in the shade and cool down every fifteen minutes or so.

I shoot all year.

Sweat is caused by effort. From effort you get "results".

From: Ben

Shoot year round everyday. A little weather doesn't change that.

From: limbwalker

If I stopped shooting in hot weather, I'd never shoot.

When its hot hot out ill shoot first thing in the morning before the suns up and on me yet up nuff to give light

When I came back from range this AM it was 104 already. It sucked the life out of me this AM. 3qts. of water and a quart of Gatorade. Used three "cool collars" I had wet and put in ice. Seems like each year it wears on me more and more.

Its coming... Will be in the 80s today. It has been perfect so far except for one bout of heat. I prefer 60s and 70s, but if there are not swarms of bugs (they aren't bad yet this year), then I'll shoot or do anything outside no matter what the temps. I have high tolerance to heat and cold, a big range of temp. comfort zone. I can stay out in the hot sun for hours painting or working on siding, so shooting is just a relaxing break from that even on hot days.

I don't mind the sweat, it's those little bugs flying into my eyes that get me

Hot is relative. It's been in the 90's for several days here in Central Texas and shoot twice a day, every day. It's all about what your body gets acclimated to.

Sounds like a personal problem to me. LOL

When it first gets hot we always have a gigantic little fly hatch. After sundown the grass is full of them, billions and billions of little flies. I have been carted off to the hospital twice for getting too hot. Heat affects me quicker than most people. I do enjoy it when people come into my house and have to catch their breath because it is too cold in here. I like to keep the house at a steady 64 degrees year round. My wife like to put on jackets when she is in the house.
