I have been asked about this so I'll post again. These are made from clip strips that retailers use for putting merchandise up that doesn't have a side counter spot. They come in several sizes and they just throw them away. If you ask at Target, Walmart, etc., they will probably give you some. I normally cover mine with Velcro also and that makes for a quiet and sturdy rest.

And it's kinda fun making some things out of throwaway material. Matter of fact, these rests...when combined with some quality velcro, will last for years on a bow. Of course, I'm cheap...and that's a plus. With one clip strip, and a pack of velcro (2.97) you can make a dozen rests.

what does it look like with the velcro installed

I have a question? Since I have been shooting longbows and recurves I have only shot off the shelf. I received a bow in mail yesterday that has a feather rest. I kinda like it. So my question is does a rest like your making or a bear weather rest put a lot of wear on your feathers ? Asking because I don't have any experience with these. Thanks

A Wal Mart weather rest?¿

Rests don't hurt feathers. Bad tuning hurts feathers.

Call it what you want, it works great.

Good show George, I like the velcro. I have been using leather. I have done a little modifying with a heated rod to form a bit of an arrow pass. It kind of keeps the arrow from sliding off while waiting on the big un to come along. Feather rests are very good too but they are a pain to make. Brush rest work equally well and are simple to make also. I don't buy much of any thing for archery any more. Got more time than money since retiring. >>>------> Ken

George, I started making those years ago when you first started talking about them.

They work as well as any stick on rest I've ever used.

That is brilliant.

I have been working for a natural foods distributor for about 4 months now and have a stack of those in the truck I look at EVERY day- and would never have thought of it.

Hahaha

If anyone has trouble finding them and wants any let me know!

The company I use to work for called those "Merchandisers". Depending on the item that hangs from them, some are thicker plastic, some thinner. They do work as an elevated rest.

Nice George

I do not use an elevated rest but if I ever decide to I'll be doing it this way. Very clever George.
