Thinking about maybe retire in general there. It's only 45 mile from Guadalajara 2nd largest city in MX. Just had a major event , Brady and all the pros where there. I assume must be local shops too. Anyone have experience there.

Your funny. Try that again. Maybe you can move in next to the Kazelakabuskis.

Years ago our club has some cross border shoots. The governor of Baja was an archery enthusiast. Let's say it is a sport of the upper class at least it was in those days. Most equipment was bought in USA and taken South.

I have spent about seven years in various third-world countries in the military. I would never live in one without some sort of US government sponsorship. Generally speaking, corruption and crime is rampant and you have no rights. You would probably be wealthier than the average citizen, but not wealthy enough to have any degree of influence with police, government or criminals. That would make you a nice target for all of the above, IMO. Health care, sanitation and infrastructure are poor in those places and life is cheap. If I never leave the US again, I'll be perfectly happy. - John

Unless you speak Spanish, you might want to try Belize.

I wouldn't move to Mexico for any reason. I studied there, and Gringos (btw that a swear word kind of like the N word) are a walking target.

Guadalajara has a big cartel presence, so does the outlying area's. I have family that will no longer go to their ranch (75 years in the same family) due to the crime, it is outside Aguascalientes and was awesome to visit. A real shame what has happened down there.

I have not gone back in 30 years. A personal? dispute. It's beautiful country. Wish you could ride a horse into the hills but it may be a one way trip. No joke. Stay in the tourist traps.

It's on the list of places to avoid like New York City or Vegas. I prefer Forrest and mountains.
