Hello Guys and Gals,

I currently have an A riser Bear take down that I love to shoot with 45# white tip number 1 limbs on it. I am thinking about getting a pair of Red tipped number 3 limbs for it in 45#. Do you all think that the longer limb will smooth out the drawing process? Will the longer limbs be more forgiving on the shorter riser? What's your favorite combo with an A riser?

Thanks for the input!

Longer bows are more forgiving typically. Longer limbs making the same length bow are not.

Smothness is most generally a sensation felt by the person shooting the bow, so maybe.

Yes, #3 limbs on an A riser will be smoother. I tried #1 limbs on an A riser and much preferred the #3 limbs.

My favourite combo is an A riser with a set of #1 and a set of #3 limbs. Thinking I should have a set of #2 limbs as well.

Depends a bit on your draw length. The longer limbs/bow will yield less finger pinch and will likely be a little smoother, and probably a tad slower. For a 60-inch bow, I prefer #1 limbs on a B riser over #3 limbs on an A riser, but either will work fine.

I think stability would be more related to draw length than limb length on a short riser. The B riser with #1 limbs has more riser mass and therefor more stable in my hands.
