So I was trying to come up with a way to make a template for a riser with a curved swoop. I have limited tools but vane up with one. I used s piece of hardwood flooring. I put cleats on one end to secure my jigsaw in place. I then put a roofing nail on the underside of the template material to act as a pivot point for the jigsaw jig. It cut like a dream.

Then I took a 3" PVC coupling and set it in my spindle sander to mimic a "robo sander"

I let the form ride against the PVC coupling to get this.
