When turkey hunting do any of you use a fan so you can waddle or crawl closer to the bird. Seems like it would be alot of trouble to me and easily skunked.

If the bird's in the right mood, look out! Type in turkey reaping in youtube and enjoy the show!

I hear it works very well, but not legal in all states. Also note 3 hunters in Kansas separated ways on their private lease. Somehow they met back up when one of them thought the other 2 that were fanning was a real turkey and shot them. They suffered facial and chest wounds. Lots of idiots out there unfortunately.

Not legal in Pa. or NJ it constitutes a stalk plus ya could possibly get shot even. Never know in some of the bush who's not going to ID properly and fire on ya.

Not a safe thing to do in my opinion. But I know people who do.

Pretty damn dangerous thing to do, especially in a state with near a million hunters.

Thanks,, sounds like private land only. With a good hunting buddy or none.

Can I presume you seen this on one of those comic videos on TV? Reason why I say comic is they are comics and actors.LOL

Fanning works, especially when a tom hangs up and see's the fan moving. It's a challenge to the boss bird. The fan is held on a stake, and when ready to shoot, you push the stake into the ground to free your hands... Why would you shoot at just a fan? If another human can't see or tell the difference, maybe they shouldn't be hunting birds in the first place...

Private land could be dangerous otherwise. You never know what the other guy can or can't see.
