After many years of struggling with a consistent anchor point I finally broke down and installed a clicker. I can't believe I waited so long. In just 2 days of shooting I have dramatically improved my accuracy and consistency. I would encourage anyone struggling with your shooting to try one. Two in the picture were from close to 40 yards and have now become the norm.

Have you modded yours to have NO chain? I couldn't take the noise. But agree with the technical improvement.....I used mine for a day :)

I also have a Beiter clicker which is much less annoying but not legal in our competition setups.

I did modify it a little. Nothing crazy, just replaced the chain with rope and electrical tape on the actual clicker. You feel it more then you hear it.

You doing that at 40 with the pika Brad? If so you are the man. These bows amaze me. I got mine used and is 54 amo and marked 47 at 28. Dan is on to something here. Most guys can,t do that with a wheel bow and a hook consistently. Great shooting!

trouble I found with it is when you want to lengthen or shorten the string

It is my pika, it's hard to shoot anything else since getting this bow.

I just stuck the cord through the string, holds it plenty tight, but a good tug on either side is all you need to adjust. Once I got it where I wanted it I threw basically a girth hitch knot around it, then a couple of knots like I do for nock points to keep it in place.

If you just stuck it through it will start to get longer and longer until you can't make it goo off.

YOu should put a loop through the bow string and then come to full draw a couple of times. Once you think the clicker length is correct put the free end through the loop and pull tight.

Clickers help with draw length, but I think they show you what a perfect release is. Also shows consistent finger placement on the string.

The real key is to shoot without one like you have one on. Then you can feel comfortable beating people who don't use one.

With my Beiter clicker, it only takes a minute to install/remove it. The few times I use it or the Klickety clicker, I just tried to memorize the feeling like bowmania said...then shoot like it was still there

I cant say enough good things about a clicker for my shooting. I did hear a Rod Jenkins on a podcast recently say that a clicker does not actually make you a better shot. He said that if your form is right a clicker is not needed.

I have clickers on three out of four of my longbows. They have made a drastic improvement in my form. In the past I was a a snap shooter and very rarly if ever got to full draw. That is a thing of the past when I shoot with a clicker. All mine are set up with the klickety clicker. They seem more durable than the others I've tried. As far as improving accuracy, if your accurate with bad form, with good form it's going to improve.

They are on every bow I own. I modify mine just like Biathlonman has in his picture. To lengthen or shorten the string I unstring the bow so there is less tension on the clicker string before pulling it through. I do tie some dental floss just above and below the clicker string so it doesn't tend to want to move when the bow is unstrung. I have never had any problem with it getting longer and longer as Bowmania mentioned. More guys would benefit from using one based on what I see at the warm-up butts at shoots, but I think pride keeps some from using one. It sort of tells everyone "Hey look,I have target panic". Personally I don't care....I have it and admit it. :o)
