Always talk about bringing back a model of Bear from yesteryear. Here is a new twist. You get to bring one back, but Bear has to drop a model to do it. You want to bring back 2 models, you have to drop two. What would you bring back, and drop? Lots of request for the 62 Grizzly on the other thread, so let's bring it back and drop the current Grizzly, we will still keep the superior Super Grizzly. I would have no problem loosing the Super Mag or the Cheyenne. Replace with an updated minuteman kept at a low cost, and bring back a static tip recurve.

Bring back the 1957 Kodiak. Drop the finger pinching Magnum.

From: Cameron Root
Date: 16-Apr-17

Drop Cheyenne, super grizzly, Patriots, Montana. Lots to bring back. Get rid of these dudds. Rooty

From: M60gunner
Date: 16-Apr-17

Drop anything under 58" lose the LB's. Make an all black SK with red accents using double carbon limbs. A machined alum riser TD. Update the old Mag riser and make it it bomb proof. No fancy stuff on that metal riser, just a rugged, throw it in the truck bow.

From: Cameron Root
Date: 16-Apr-17

Montana needs bamboo cores lighter glass and smaller tips. It's a hockey stick dud.

From: hvac tech
Date: 16-Apr-17

Well the super grizzly is not a dud by any stretch of the imagination .mine shoots great i like it a lot now that does not mean i shoot well that is another story all together .

From: Cameron Root
Date: 16-Apr-17

Don't need 2 grizzly. I found the glass heavy, grip blocky and not worth the up charge. Now that's my opinion. If you like yours good for you. Rooty

How about ditch the Cheyenne for zebrawood models of any bow? That's my liking. A zebrawood takedown would be super sexy in my eyes

From: Dry Bones
Date: 16-Apr-17

A Grizzly for Grizzly trade sounds about right. I have never shot the Cheyenne, but A drop there and bring back my Polar, and not to ruffle feathers, but do we really need so many Kodiaks and their takedowns? Remove at least one of those and bring back the Bear Hunter. Limb Bolts and all.

I agree with Riverwolf. Love my Montana!!

drop the regular grizzly and chyann. bring back the 56" grizzly and improved limb minuteman....ron

From: George D. Stout Compton's Traditional Bowhunters
Date: 17-Apr-17

You need a bigger market than just what some here like. But anyway, the 56" Grizzly only lasted three years back in the day...68,69 and 70. Bear likely got too many complaints about taking the 58" away. They tried introducing the Tigercat in 1970/71 as a 58" but the troops weren't happy, so back came the 58" Grizzly. The Grizzly is a fine bow for those who like it, and there are a huge lot of folks that do. Overall it was Bear's best selling hunting bow...price/quality, and it was also Bear's first bow out of Grayling.

As for the Kodiak Mag, it too has a following that is pretty broad. These hypothetical questions are fun, but I have no suggestions for this thread. I say keep what they have and expand as they can. The sales, or lack thereof, will dictate whether one stays or goes.

From: David Mitchell Compton's Traditional Bowhunters

The Cheyenne is a great little bow....be a shame to drop it.

From: hvac tech
Date: 17-Apr-17

Dropping the grizzly would not be a good thing it is way to popular. Plus the sales dictate things the most

From: hvac tech
Date: 17-Apr-17

Bring back kodiak hunter great bow

From: Kodiak
Date: 17-Apr-17

I guess I'm in the minority but I never cared for the Hunter. Big and blocky.....

Keep it buried.

From: Longtrad
Date: 17-Apr-17

I am with you, bring back the minuteman and the static! drop the montana,

From: GLF
Date: 17-Apr-17

Montana's one of the best and best selling bows Bear makes at the moment. They're not gonna drop it.

From: Matt B
Date: 17-Apr-17

I love the Magnum and Super Mag (although I'm not going to buy one), so let's keep them. If the Supreme comes back, is that a new one or just a variant on the Takedown? And let's make an A handle Supreme this time.

From: N. Y. Yankee
Date: 17-Apr-17

Bring back the Mag A&B and the Minuteman. Drop the Cheyenne and the Mag 48.

From: KyStickbow
Date: 17-Apr-17

I have to disagree with the Montana being a dud as well. I think they are an excellent bow for the money...and I have hunted mine for the last four seasons while my customs sit on the rack. Doubt they are gonna drop it anytime soon!

I think they could maybe drop the super mag...and some of the less popular longbows to bring back some classics.

From: lonfitz
Date: 17-Apr-17

If you can't bring back the Mag,at least bring back the grips, those thing's are getting expensive!

From: Darryl Payne
Date: 17-Apr-17

As long as they make the K. mag I will stay happy.

From: Scott_30415

I would have say X2 on the 56" Grizzly. My favorite get er done bow for my draw.

From: cut it out
Date: 24-Apr-17

Montana is a great bow for the price! Helps get a lot of new people in to the sport I bet. And the grizzly. To me that's worth keeping.

From: HALFCAWKT
Date: 25-Apr-17

The Montana is horrible compared to what can be had for the same money elsewhere. I know a lot of guys like them, but in a head to head comparison with other offerings on the market at the price point Montana is a dud. That also goes for the current configuration of the grizzly.

Now for the op's question... i say drop the patriot, bring back the minute man or '76er.

Drop the Cheyenne, bring back the kodiak hunter.

Marry the best parts of the grizzlies together to only have one, bring back c riser take down with #2 limbs.

From: MStyles
Date: 25-Apr-17

I thought the Bear Tigercat was a nice bow, but drop another? I don't know enough to suggest eliminating another.

From: GLF
Date: 25-Apr-17

Unless they make em for kids bows the minuteman and 76er won't be back. They were duds that sat forever on racks in most parts of the country the first time. A few bought em for kids. The supreme didn't sell cause you can't get high end custom price out of factory bows no matter how fancy. Even the signature didn't come close to the 999 limit cause guys bought custom, even tho they truly were t custom. I think the k Hunter would fill the slot for longer draw people who want a short bow just like it did before. The tamerlane was a great bow, maybe for 3d but even thats iffy. The 62 grizzly would sell because it would fill the 62 in h niche. My 2c

From: Kodiak
Date: 25-Apr-17

The Cheyenne is the obvious choice to drop.

Agree that an aluminum td riser would be a hot seller.

From: GLF
Date: 25-Apr-17

What do you guys think of an ilf bear td. Not to replace the current td but as an add on bow. Bears sell mostly out of nostalgia. This would maybe put them back mainstream and up to date in stickbows.

From: GLF
Date: 25-Apr-17

Or maybe an all new tamerlane ilf.

From: Tim Finley Professional Bowhunters Society - Qualified Member Compton's Traditional Bowhunters

I think the 59 is a great bow and I would like to see them make a 62 Kodiak .

From: Dan W

Olde Farte Bear lover here, please bring back-

1.Nels Grumley "Deer Slayer" (if it was during his Bear days, of course).

2. 1954 Kodiak ll in all 3 available lengths 3. The Famous 56, both lengths, 4. 1955 Kodiak- I finally got one of those; the most drop dead gorgeous fiberglass I have ever seen on a bow, (only excepting the mottled brown and black "end paper" style design on the back lam of my old, deceased 83#@29" HH Tembo).

5. 1955 Grizzly. 6. All the Polars 7. All the Kodiak Specials

Staying within my own special niche category of old Bears I would trade off all the Cubs (only because of the OP's rules here, fine beginner and economy bows) and the Alaskans, excepting my one "magic Alaskan". Also those old Aluminum lam failures. (Fred really blew it with those!)

From: Jay B

Keep the Super Grizzly, shot one last week, nice shooting bow. Drop the Cheyenne and bring back the Kodiak Hunter.

From: Ed
Date: 09-Dec-17

What is the difference between the Grizzly and Super Grizzly? I have 2 Grizzly's love them. I have never shot a Super Grizzly or a Kodiak...

From: Draven
Date: 09-Dec-17

Yes, it is. That's why I said "bring back a longbow".

From: KDdog

Drop the grizzly and patriot. Bring back both 59 KODIAK De Luxe and 59 KODIAK special.

For all you Cheyenne haters, have you ever shot one? I guess it doesn't really matter. If there's not a scape goat, then you have to pick another. It just doesn't have the history that these other bows have so it won't have the following. I think it is much superior to the kmag and grizz. Just a much better looking and feeling bow with a happy medium length. But what do I know.

Now I don't have a lot of opinion on what they should bring back except the mag risers... I told them I would take the first 2000 risers out the door :).. but what I would like to see is more Zebra wood. I don't care to use zebra wood much in my bows just because as far as exotics go, I rate it as simple and not real exciting with a few exceptions, but I know I'll never talk them in to using Black and white ebony ;) nor would I be able to supply them with enough of it. I haven't seen a good bear bow yet. All are overrated in my opinion.

From: Babbling Bob Compton's Traditional Bowhunters

The 1962 Kodiak. Another would be the '60 Kodiak Special, especially the Deluxe model. Both the '62 and the Specials were good shooting and good looking too.
