Im curious how do i stop my points from rattling loose. What do you do?

From: Caughtandhobble

String wax helps by applying to point threads, then a little tug with pliers.

Pliers. Done.

As suggested or - nylon washers, o-rings, superglue, fletch tite, bees wax, rust, lock tite green blue or red, or just a little twist after pulling each arrow from a target.

A little piece of Teflon plumbing tape seems to work well. It stays neat and clean and you can still change them easy. A tiny dab of hot melt works well but is just another hassle if you want to swap points. I swap points quit often using the same arrows for different bows.>>>-----> Ken

A dab of hot glue on the point threads works for me.

Dental floss.

Plumbing tape here as well.

Don't want anything too hard to get off for point removal. About the easiest thing that works well is bow string wax. I can shoot an entire field round without any loosening.

8/32 lock washers, tighten down with pliers, box is cheap. No weight added.

From: The Whittler

I don't find it that hard to just give the point a twist before I shoot that arrow. Very easy and only takes a sec.

Beeswax and archery go well together. I carry two lumps in my quiver. One for me and one to give away to someone who needs some. I got a lifetime supply from a beekeeper. - lbg

I've found dis-similar metal corrosion works well......

Or, switch to right wing feathers. That will tighten screw-in points on impact.

From: Woods Walker

I use two pliers, one to hold the arrow and one to hold the point. Problem solved.

From: Mpdh
Date: 13-Apr-17

Miss the target and don't find your arrow for 3 or 4 months. When you finally find it I guarantee that point will not come loose.

String wax, I've never used pliers and works great. They unscrew with your fingers.

From: camperjim

Some people seem to be constantly hand tightening their points. Loctite is made for this. All that is needed is a very small amount droplet of Loctite blue.

Anyone ever try fingernail polish? Don't see why it wouldn't work. I bet your wife or ?? has some unused color laying around. Anything that fills the threads should work, but bees wax here.

Finger nial polish works great

Nail polish - poor man's Loc Tite.

From: Fletch

Dental floss "tape" (ie "Glide") IS teflon /plumbers tape-just much smaller/thinner. A few wraps in the middle third of the threads, and then pliers to cinch up.

A dab of rubber cement on the point threads, and pliers to cinch. Flexible /soft bond.

Beeswax also is excellent-as stated earlier, if you have some.

From: LuckyStrike

Bubble gum around the threads.

Boogers, always have em, never run out. No seriously, string wax is great.

From: Doc Pain
Date: 14-Apr-17

Shooting wood arrows usually takes care of that. lol

From: silverarrowhead
Date: 14-Apr-17

String wax, or start using right wing feathers. They will help keep the points on tight, by spinning the arrow to the right.

From: pete w
Date: 14-Apr-17

Squeeze the point threads with pliers to slightly distort them They stay tight.

From: Archergreg
Date: 14-Apr-17

Wax is good but toilet ring wax is the best. On a side note cheap points have undersized threads at times.
