Well, who makes the best and who's the best for the money. I'm needing to buy one for making arrows. Wood arrows, nothing fancy and super expensive for carbons needed. Looking at Ace's $100 wall mounted one right now

The Adams from 3Riveres is a good one as is the Ace.

You can build as good as there is for a $15 indicator and a 1 X 4 They are really simple. Once we got over the mystique. It simply measures the amount an arrow bends with a weight hung on it. A 1" travel, dial indicator measures in thousands. You can't get more accurate than that.>>>-------> Ken

I'm real happy with my spine o meter. Chart has markings for wood, carbon and aluminum. Very well built and made in the US!

I have a home made spine tester and a Adam's spine tester. I use the Adams most of the time.

Ace 101 works great.

I have the cheapest model Ace makes. It's fool proof and simple to use. Its for wood shafts only, but it works on boo, cane and natural shoot shafts just as good.

Many moons ago I had a Scheib Spine Tester that I bought at a benefit auction for $2.00. The curved chart piece was broken but that was fixed quickly. I love the look of those old models, but the Ace is a great spine tester that I would likely buy if in the market.

Went ahead with the ace! Shoulda thrown some broadheads in the cart to but oh well. I have a homemade one, just felt like it was time to be more professional to be selling shafts.

Question will the ace work on carbons and aluminium and wood

From: Tracker0721!

I don't use carbons but when I was buying it they offered a different size weight to make it work with carbons.

How does the small ace work on tapered shafts. That being the reason I didn't trust it. Rooty

I have 2 Adams and that's what I like. I debated to buy a digital and sell one of the Adams but haven't done more than think about it yet.
