Hello Guys and Gals,

Has anyone ever made dance field points with different colors? I would like to try different colored field points on some of my arrows. Also I think when I miss the target it will aid in finding the arrows. It may get also help with point on shooting. Let me know what you all think about the idea... Pros and cons please!

Lucky!

I haven't. My guess is, powder coat would abrade off a smooth steel target point in just a few shots, depending on what you were hitting. If the heads were rusty, maybe the coat would adhere better? All that is just a guess. Try it?

Tools and materials to PC are at Harbor Freight. Powder coating cast bullets is a new technique to eliminate leading the bore, and keep the air cleaner in shooting centers.

Jig powder coating, might work. I don't know how long it will last. JF

Nor very well. I have a lot of Bear Razor heads that I used for practice. Fair amount of paint is worn off. Wasn't a problem since most people didn't do a lot of "practice" with broadheads.

Honestly, I can't see it holding up very well, and doubt it would help finding arrows. That's what big fletch in unnatural colors are for.

Viper out.

Id use reflective wraps and bright feathers instead.

Paint, then repaint as needed. Not too hard to do.

Take sandpaper to them,it makes them very bright and easy to see, especially if you aim off the tip.Probably wont help for finding lost arrows as the head is normally buried under something.

I knew an old guy once that heat treated his field points. He was not after looks but wanted to toughen them up for those "misses". But they looked cool, like a case hardened receiver on a double barrel shotgun.
