I just noticed this little device in the newest catalog. Comes with the tape too. Anyone used one of these?

That's interesting. I like the tape but I'm not sure I'd like the gun.

I read a review on another site (LAS) that said they weren't impressed. It looked like the machine/gun separates the tape from the red backing. I would rather pull off the backing when I get ready. I usually end up making a slight adjustment to the feather position before I engage the clamp to the shaft, which, I think would be a source of problems with the exposed, sticky side of the tape. I have no problem lifting the red backing off the tape with the blade of an Exacto knife when I get ready to engage the feather to the shaft. The secret to getting the backing off, for me, seems to be cutting the end off at a sharp angle and leaving myself a sharp point to get under with the Exacto knife. I put my tape on starting at the leading edge and cut it at a sharp angle at the trailing edge and then trim the end off Square. That starts my next feather off with the sharp point I like to have for starting the next tape application.

If your talking about the dispenser for fletching tape it's not that new and the reviews I read said "save your money".

I'm not crazy about peeling the red backing off but I would prefer to leave it on until I'm ready to stick the feather on. Because I like to push the tape onto the feather real good before I peel the backing tape off. So I don't think I'd like the dispenser for that reason.

IMO it's just another "gadget" to get your money. No "pressing" use for one. I like setting the feather onto the shaft with the red backing on the tape and align the feather onto the shaft then removing the red backing with a sharp, pointed pocket knife blade after cutting the tape to length with scissors

Likewise. Plus this "dispenser" looks quite complicated after watching the video of it. No thanks.

It's a gadget and NOT a necessary accessory.

The video did not do anything to help the product. It looks very difficult to work with. No thanks.

Scotch makes a double side 1/8" wide tape dispenser that I have been using for at least ten years. Worked every bit as good as the Fletch tape and way cheaper. We used these dispensers to teach kids how to make arrows. No Mess!
