Here are 2 longbows I just completed. Both are 68" NTN and satin finish.

First bow is 41# @ 29", bamboo core, green glass back and belly. Black locust riser, phenolic tip overlays with locust. Deer skin wrap, calf hair rest/ strike plate.

Second bow is 45# @ 29", Eastern Red Cedar core, walnut riser, clear glass back, white glass belly, phenolic tip overlays with walnut. Beaver tail wrap and rest/ strike plate.

Craftsmanship looks great. Very well done. I think eastern red cedar makes an excellent core wood.

Longbow blank off the form and cleaned up! Figured Shedua riser, Eastern Red Cedar limbs with light gray glass. This bow will be for sale, 68" NTN, around 45# at 28", or 66" NTN for a higher draw weight.

Had the last cedar longbow out at a 3D shoot last weekend, quick and quiet with the Fast Flight string!

Backset, straight, stringfollow? You been at this awhile? Definately doesn't look like a modified Bingham longbow. Nice, clean, classic lines and looks of a true ASL...well done.

From: Barber
Date: 07-Apr-17

Very nice ! Be proud of those !

From: 3Ditional

Very nice! HHA, watch out!

From: trbenoit
Date: 07-Apr-17

Thanks for the kind words guys! I use a straight form for these bows. Some have slight string follow, depending on taper and core material. Have a backset form and will also be building reflex deflex. I started building bows about 6 months ago. Much thanks to Rob Shultze (bluemonday) for the endless information he has passed along to me.

From: Bowlim
Date: 07-Apr-17

I always figure how bad can a straight form be, when people seem to enjoy both string follow and backset bows. It's the happy medium.

From: BATMAN

SUH-WEET LOOKING BOWS! You gonna be after the thunder-chickens with one? That should be a real thrill! take a turkey with the BOW that YOU MADE! BE SAFE & WELL! Batman

Ryan will be a bowyer to keep your eyes on. He is meticulous and a quick study. His bows are great shooters and lookers. His ASL bows are some of the nicest shooting ones I have shot and I have owned all of them. No handshock and quick. You will be seeing a lot of his work in the future.

Very clean work my friend! Superb!

What rate of taper did you use? How wide at the widest point and how narrow at the nocks if you don't mind.
