I missed Fred's birthday. He turned 80 on March 3rd. How about showing us some of Fred's bows if you have one? Anyway, Happy Birthday Fred!

Happy to oblige; here are some of the details in one of Fred's Mojo recurves.

Mo' Mojo...

That Mojo was Fred's personal hunting bow, called 'Rattler'--46# draw and 62" long; cocobolo and yew.

And here's a FASCO Sonic that Fred said he shaped the grip on--it really feels great in the hand.

Nice. I like the sight window on the Sonic!

You'd like more than that about it, Joe--it's a 57" bow, and a little speed demon to boot; but without any unnecessary flash to it.

Happy birthday Mr. Anderson! Got his book and 2 of his bows. Sorry no pics. But thier beautiful bows!

Can't post a picture of one of Fred's bows. I begged with money in my hand a couple of times, but he refused to sell me one. Happy Birthday anyway, my friend!

Happy Birthday Fred. I've got a birthday this month too.

Yes, Fred's always trying to get more than $50 for his bows. Still don't have one.

Happy Birthday Fred. Beautiful Kerry.

Joe you owe it to yourself to get one. Maybe then you won't be at the end of the line.

Ron, here's another picture of Fred at a longbow event in Michigan in 1986. Do you recognize the shady character he's talking to, who happens to be shooting one of Fred's bows? He makes a mean arrow...and he remembers shooting against you, at a target across a pond there.

Happy Birthday Fred!!!

Here's a pic of Steve Gorr with Fred and his nice pronghorn from last season.

We are indeed fortunate here in the Northwest to have those great ambassadors of archery among us. BTW, I believe Steve Gorr has a birthday in just a few days as well.

Had the privilege of holding and shooting one of MISTER Anderson's works of art. Then the bow's stingy owner finally wrestled it out of my grubby hands.

I doubt that I'll ever experience such perfection again.

I had a good conversation with Fred this morning. He said at his age he quit counting years a while back. He was appreciative for all wishes he had received from the Trad community. Happy Birthday Fred

Several years ago at Denton Hill, my buddy Roger invited Fred and Steve to come over to our camp site one evening for the annual fish fry that Roger always liked to do one night at Denton. I can assure that it was one unforgettable evening. Those two are great guys. Steve got to telling stories that kept us in stitches. They are both great ambassadors for our sport.

From: crookedstix

And he really shouldn't have shot Lon's nice new arrow off that High Steel Bridge in the video!

From: Frisky
Date: 15-Mar-17

There's another oldster here who will be 81 on March 21st. I was telling him he and Skookum are from the old school of men who didn't grow up to be crybabies. We have all these 50 to 70 year old crybabies around here who could learn a thing or two from the old guys. I think Fred's shooting that nice arrow off the bridge was the right thing to do, given the circumstances.

81? WOW, that' sounds old but some of those old guys are really talented...like this guy.
