Well gang I have been reluctant to jump in ....but this I must share. I recently purchased a JET Wolverine, 68" 50@28. Many long conversations with Joel the owner...I decided on the Wolverine. It has 1 1/4 set back . I am so pleased with the performance, grip, feel. Sure glad I found it.

Right know I am going with 3 David Miller split bamboo 66"58@28 a JD Berry Vixon 68" 58#28 and a Northern Mist Classic 68" 52@28 But if I had to go with just one today it would be the Northern Mist.
But that would be a hard choice!

I have a bunch of them at the moment: The go to bow has been my:
- Zack Ferguson I have two as I was able to pick a second hand understudy up. They are both in the 66" 65# range at 29". However, though identically marked the one second hand one is actually about 2 inches shorter.
- Prior to the Zack, my go to bows were two Elburgh Jaguars, same as the above on dimensions, and second handedness. And they are even further off the length spec, one is nearly 62 inches, and they work well. Jaguars are handle forward bows with backset. They have a nice Hill profile when strung, but another way of looking at a Hill bow with backset, and a forward grip is to call it what it is, a hybrid. That is how they are able to go to 29" at 62" I also own an Elburg with the neutral axis grip I got it cheap off ebay. I don't think I have ever shot it, but back when I bought it, there wasn't any immediate need to worry about medium bows being too heavy, so I was stocking up.
So last fall I decided I had never properly owned a real Hill. I had handled them, and examine the specs with micrometers, but never owned one. So I bought the following bows some of which fit the Hill mold better than others, But when looking at one thing, other things come up. I haven't had much of a chance to wring these out on the range yet, just indoor stuff:
A 64" 68# GN bushbow. In some ways this is the rockstar of the lot. Feels ten pounds less in weight than I would have expected. And the Jacknife feature is just amazing. Bushbows were gaining popularity, but were displaced by the hybrids, that may have been a mistake.
A 68" 65# Adcock ACS Hill. This is the most interesting bow of the lot, and the most beautifully made, though at this point, I don't particularly like the way it shoots. It was a bit of a joke bow, as the ACS really doesn't work in this format. But to me, other than truly important ASLs that might have been owned by so and so ,or the first of a type, this is the most collectible bow ever made. Though I don't think anyone actually believes that but me. It depends whether serious collectors ever show up in archery.
A 68", 55# Shrew Hill. This is a very elegant looking bow. So far shoots horribly as I haven't obtained the right arrows for it yet. The string is also not centered, and it makes a clicking noise I haven't tracked down.
And finally, a 70" 50 something", Big Five.
I also have a Mystic longbow from a period when they were made pretty much like Hills, and a Don Adams yew longbow, for contrast. Other than two 3 piece hybrids, that is pretty much it for "longbows".

My preference are 64" ASLs in the 50s# @ 26" range. Although I do have 4 that are 66". I have a rare 62" JD Berry-Morning Star that I had to beg and swear to name my next child "James" in order to get "One-Eye" to build it for me. I plan to use it to hunt turkey from the blind in a couple of weeks. I did take a couple deer with it last season. I will agree that when you get to 62"s, form is critical when shooting.

Howard Hill "Redman" 64" 45@26" . I am a short draw shooter. I have s Jet "Jaguar" same specs only 66". Both are stringfollow and extremely beautiful smooth drawing bows. I shoot both . Hard to pick favorite except the Redman resonates with me the most. I tend to like the shorter limbs More efficient and feels "right"

I am waiting on a duo shooter sunset Hill. I started shooting left hand because of a release finger issue. JD Berry supplied me with a proto type of his heritage. I can shoot right or left hand, as long as I do not get carried away and keep a casual stump shooter shot tempo. Two years ago i shot 20 some various animals with that bow both left and right handed. Last year I was determined to shoot a deer with my right hand Pierce Point Robertson. I messed up always arguing with the grip, so I went back and took three days I took five shots and killed one deer, two pheasants, missed a long shot at a running rabbit, but got the next two. That bow has a grip copy of one Hill's bows, it simply works for me. Saturday, I gave my 52@26 Big River longbow to a friend that i gave a recurve to several years back. With a little bit of work he was laying in arrows tight at 20 yards, he is an exceptional learner, but that bow is going to really work for him. The Sunset Hill switch hitter will be5 or 6 pounds heavier than the switch hitter that I currently have. These bows will eliminate my need for having any right hand bows, I may keep two for my offspring should they want one for a keepsake. I have parted with so many bows lately that it is getting lonely in my archery room. But that's okay, They shouldn't just sit around and gather dust. I like the duo shooters, and my lefty Berry Morning Star. Three is a good number to have.

Three that I am shooting right now... All at 50-52 @28. JD Berry Archery Heritage (slight string follow), JD Berry Archery Vixen (back set), and finally my JD Berry Archery Misty Dawn (String follow).
I am shooting POC through these bows.
I love several other models of ASL bows but these are my faves (right at the moment).
