Looking at switching to carbon arrows with the traditional wood grain coating. Which is the smoothest/quietest during draw between gold tip trad, Easton axis trad, or Beman centershot? Off a bristle rest?

CRAIG? Hope that somebody will chime in on Your question. I kinda have doubts about any arrow being QUIET on a bristle type rest? Are we talking something like a toothbrush here? I'm no expert but have You tried something like HOYT PRO ELEVATED REST? Or something similar?? It would SEEM that the less contact with the arrow that the less noise there would be???? Just saying. STAY SAFE / WELL / WARM / COMFORTABLE & BLESSED BE! Batman

Ok that's what I figured that all pretty much the same. Was trying to justify the extra $30-60 for the Easton or beman vs the $50 for gold tip blems

I use the "brush" rests on most of my recurves. I do not find them noisy like plastic rests. I have noticed on the blems slight rough finish. I use 0000 steel wool and Acetone to remove the printing and smooth up the entire shaft. Blems are pretty much all we use any more.

BEEMAN , and you can smooth out most with brushed on enamel from a can. apply to cotton tee shirt , then wipe on shaft . My brother in law and I shot 340's with out any real sounds , me from a quicktune and he from a wiskerB . I found out about the enamel from an oldtimer who finishes his fishing rods like that .
