Kevslay just listed the bow i own in the classifieds for sale. I have the bow and manual in front of me right now. It is the PSAX spalted maple 47@28" This guy has listed a few BW by different names lately. Be very careful and take paypal only. Hope he gets what he deserves.

@ BLACKJACK? BRASS ONES AT THAT! Is this on the WALL classifieds or flea-bay? Many thanks for HEADS-UP! Batman

I say, since you have the pictures to prove it, it is grounds for a permanent ban on that handle.

Sure, he can make another account, and come back, but it's better than just letting him slide.

If I had the authority to do it, I'd do it right now, and he would be gone.

Looks like it's in the classifieds here. No picture though.

2015 he went by this handle Bowville23 same email address [email protected] Spence Guida from Florida Goes by the handle "Bowville23"

From: Dkincaid
Date: 20-Feb-17

Did he delete his picture or it a one of a kind bow sorry I'm not familiar with Widows. I guess what I'm asking is it possible he just has a similar bow?

From: Dry Bones
Date: 20-Feb-17

Curious of the same thing if he "may" have a similar bow, if not then I'm with Rick. Send him down the road.

I'm curious also as to how he's putting your bow in the classifieds? Have you had it in the classifieds before with a pic?

From: RymanCat
Date: 20-Feb-17

Unreal Wayne wheres it say they are from? Other?

From: Longdrawroger

This guy says he's in Florida, will send you pictures, ask him for a phone number and will not respond, happened last week to a friend of mine.

From: PECO
Date: 20-Feb-17

So what is he doing, cut an past an old add? How did he find out about your bow?

From: Wayne Carver
Date: 21-Feb-17

To answer a few above questions I bought if off here a couple of months ago from Archery Talk the same add that has been copied and pasted word for word. How do I know it is the same bow. How many widows are Splated Maple,47 lbs @ 28", Asbel grip and the kicker the bow is dated 1-14 but it was a demo so the owners manual with the serial # is dated 5-23-16 when it was actually sold and warranty started. Same guy with a different handle has listed 2 other Widows in the last few weeks. A guy in my club almost bought it but the guy only wanted money orders and would never call as requested only emails so I told him to run. I love this site but without feedback its tough. On AT I have over 260 feedbacks @100% but on here I'm just another guy. I got stood up on a Blacktail 2 months ago. Good thing I used paypal and finally got my money back but its still a hassle. Be careful there are a lot of scams going on.

I asked for pictures yesterday and he just sent them. Yes its my bow right down to the serial#. Its hanging on my wall safe and sound along with the owners manual. He copied the pictures and ad from when I bought it and is trying to sell something he doesn't own. I sent him a friendly email back.

From: PECO

He sent me a phone number, it is land line number from northern Illinois. He does claim to be from Florida.

It's gotten really bad the past couple years. They're everywhere on CL too. A little precaution and common sense stops most of em in their tracks.

From: BUTCH HILLEN
Date: 21-Feb-17

He might be the one who got me for a 450.00 MO he had me send to his daughter Theresa Estrada Ocoee, FLa. Never got the bow but he sent me 2 over 600.00 Money Orders that was fake and taken by toa USPS Kevslay just called me wanting paid PayPal family and friends. Said him and Wayne got it fixed. 815 410 1467 his number

From: SJJ

Kevin Larose from Florida Goes by the handle "Kevslay"

From: Dkincaid
Date: 21-Feb-17

It's almost worth a pay to post classified as it really is getting bad over here.

From: Wayne Carver
Date: 21-Feb-17

Looks like he pulled it. The name on his email is Spence Guida , Also he posted his email in the ad so it's public.

From: StikBow

We live in a world where people work hard to take from others, and electronic devices make it easy for them to cast their dishonest activity wide and fast.

From: Wayne Carver
Date: 21-Feb-17

Also Butch as you know we didn't get it fixed since we have never talked. Nothing to talk about he trying to sell my bow that he never owned. He's taking old ad's from other site's and reposting them on here trying to take people's hard earned money.

From: Darkarcher
Date: 21-Feb-17

I hate this stuff happens. I love buying and trading / selling bows. Really good deals come up at times and you get to try new thing you never would have otherwise. Hope word gets out and the spammers leave us alone. Thanks for the heads up Wayne.

If these scammers would work as hard at "work" they might make an honest living. Sort of like some those folks who spend long hours at intersections, in shifts, begging for money. I watched a couple doing shifts once while I was in a FF burger joint. One even brought the other lunch.

The only way I sell or buy bows, is by going to Trad shoots, I never would trust this internet stuff,,,, and it is too bad, but no way am I sending money to someone I have no idea who they are, and not by pay pal either,,,,,,,,

Read this thread and thought, I'll play a little. So... I send the guy and email not expecting to get a reply since he'd already been nailed. I got a surprise--he did reply.

I wrote: "Very interested in the bow you have listed on the Leatherwall. Where are you located in FL. Perhaps I could pick it up or have someone else get it. Thanks."

Reply from Spence Guida ([email protected]): "I am located in Ocoee,FL. thanks"

I wrote: "That's GREAT! My nephew is a deputy sheriff in Orange County. Please forward your address and telephone number. I'll have him call you. He will pick it up at your convenience and give you payment in cash then. Thanks very much."

Reply from Spence Guida: "HAHAHAHAHAA..YOU;RE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO WRITE AT THE FORUM...HAHHAAHA"

I guess I just did, huh Spence? HAHHAAHA

I think this guy is at it again, user name is Widow98 from Florida. He has a 56" Black Widow Pchx that I wanted to buy so I emailed him at [email protected] asking for pics. He finally emailed me back saying his daughter got hit by a motorcycle and was in the hospital so that's why it took him a while to respond. The description in his ad is the exact same as when the bow was sale a year ago and he sent me the same exact pic that were used a year ago. I messaged the guy that sold the bow last spring and he said he didn't know the guy and it seemed fishy. Just a heads up!!

Heck, I cannot even give bows away. I gave out five a while back and got tow of them back. A long Kodiak Special, that had a sliver in the glass that I wrapped with serving that shoots great and a Wing Slimline. Both people thought it was fun , but the bows seemed too stiff for them, so they bought their own lighter bows. One asked what recurves I liked, I told him Bear Super Ks and the other bought a Hill.

Paying to post will ruin this site just as it has other sites and it will not stop scammers. Bad idea! Just take the time to look at a person's posts, easy to recognize the bad guys by doing that.

From: camodave

Pay to post is just a cash grab.

I wouldn't think paying $20, $30 or more will stop a scammer. They will pay and make hundreds.

I just almost made a deal with a guy in Florida on that same PCH X black widow. Thanks to all of you for saving me the money. He wanted me to make the check out to his wife Teresa Estrada. I wish I lived in Ocoee Florida I'd beat his ass. They should just put people like that out of their misery.

I'm not too good at this but I've tried to attach the pictures he sent me

Ive bought and sold 5 bows here over the last 3 years, with 0 issues. I hope we can get the scammers under control. But i like it being no pay, i dont use the pay sight. Btw as I understand it if someone rips you off and you used a usps mo its considered mail fraud and usps will prosecute.

From: Budly
Date: 20-Apr-17

I have sold and traded bows on this site without issues. I do two things; 1) look at their historical posts, and 2) reach out to a few others with whom they appear to know and/or have dealt with per their posts. If they don't pass either of those tests, I stay away from them. That has worked for me. If I had to pay to post, I would refrain from further trading and selling. Be careful and don't be too anxious. This is a grasp of the obvious on my part, but true.

From: TimZeigler Professional Bowhunters Society - Associate Member

Whenever buying or selling on any of the sites I offer and ask for references w/contact information from past dealings. Most sellers and buyers have gone through the woes of forum classifieds so any negative or lack of information provided sends up a red star cluster in my book.

Wow, thanks for saving me the trouble as well. I received the same, now known to be lame, story! Thought it was too good to be true! Too bad there are people like this trolling the Bowsite/LW.
