After seeing full draw. It appears to need a little off the outter bottom limb .i haven't shot it that much but it does not seam to be taking set anywhere. Arvin

Looking at 1st photo, maybe not. Unstrung lower limb looks much like full draw. I would think that would mean it is bending evenly with the natural shape of the limb, therefore taking minimal set there?

Wow. You guys, wow :) JF

Bentstick the bow balances on my finger at center of the bow pretty good. I am pretty sure the the shock is coming from the lower limb. I had to heat two spots on the lower end to get the string over the center of the handle. No tempering though . Arvin

I think I will shoot it some more and keep a close eye on it. It has good cast so it must be pretty close. Y'all know I prefer the straight staves. But I seen a bow so I went for it. The growth rings are real tite and the stave was good and dry. I don't even attempt the thin rings unless they are dry. This one had been looked over for some years. Good dense stave though. Arvin

Arvin, I agree. The last 1/3 of the bottom limb isn't working as much as the rest of it. Good job on a challenging piece.

Looks good Arvin, some staves you just know will make a good bow, I kinda like the straighter ones too! Bob
