I built a new bow and mixed things up a little. It is Osage but has a handle lamination and tip overlays of Ebony. I did a turquoise inlay scroll in the grip as well as the top tip. The turquoise arrowhead inlay is my new makers mark that will go on all my future bows. This is actually going to be a new model of bow for me. Any suggestions on a model name for this gem?

Great work! The accents are very well done.

My vote for a name is Thunderheart.

That's beautiful! The color change that bow will see throughout its life will be amazing. That would be a family heirloom in this household. What are the specs of the bow? Looks fast just laying there,,,lol.

Huge beauty! Inlay that torquoise bh in some nice wood pendant ( maybe wooden arrowhead) & sell as necklaces. Look good even w/quarter inch torquoise bh inlaid.

"Any suggestions on a model name for this GEM? " sounds like you've already named that beauty... either "Gem" or "Blue Gem"...

From: MississippiBelle

My vote would be for Blue Twilight or Blue Wind. Because.......Turquoise is the only "live" mineral....allowing it to change color depending on it's environment. To Native American Indians turquoise is "life" and holds the power of healing and protection. It is also referred to as "sky stone". It is also found in almost every culture and carries great significance. In the Navajo culture they have 4 mountains and one of them is Mount Turquoise (known as Mount Taylor today in NM) the Navajo name was Tsoodzil (or Dootl'lzhiidziil) ...some of the people that were told to live in this mountain were called Blue Twilight and others, and the one called "Blue Wind" was made to give life to the mountain and symbolizing complete harmony, beauty, health, goodness and balance. Enough of history.......my vote would be for Blue Twilight or Blue Wind. Sorry this was a long post

Or Gemmie Blue

I think MississippiBelle is onto something!

Call it "Blue Twilight" or "Blue Wind" but use/write the actual Navajo words on the bow.

Dootl'izh Nahootsoii - "Blue Twilight"

or

Dootl'izh Nílch'i - "Blue Wind"

I like Blue Wind since it will speed an arrow like the wind!

Twisted limbs.....Ryan Gill .... What name did you decide on? I have a custom bow being made with some turquoise on it and didn't want to use one of the names I suggested to you if you have named your model by it. And BAPilot2 had added the Navajo meaning. Just curious. Marsha.
