Anyone familiar with the Paul Bunyan 600 fiberglass bow? I have a chance to purchase one but don't know anything about that bow. From the pictures, the limbs appear to have horn tips, which I have never seen on a solid fiberglass bow. It also has a leather grip, which also must be unusual for such a bow. The bow is 45# and apparently made for hunting. What would be a fair price for a bow like this. Any information would be appreciated.

I have a Paul Bunyan 300 that is 45#. The tips appear to be plastic made to look like horn, and the grip looks like solid rubber with a very thin leather covering. My brother picked it up at a garage sale. I have never shot or even strung it up, as the tips look kind of questionable, with gaps between the tips and limbs. With out seeing and handling it, I wouldn't spend too much. I suppose with todays glues, a guy could redo the tips, as I don't think the solid glass limbs are a problem? Not much help, but I never had an urge to go back to a solid glass bow, after buying my first laminated bow, a Kodiak Hunter, back in 1970. I had a 40# Pearson Jet that was solid glass before that. I'm sure glass bows have gotten the job done for many through the years.

25 cents would be a fair price, but I think George would pay more?

Glass bows have become popular with survivalist. Worth more than a grail bow for sure.

Chuck, they are plastic tips, but they work okay. They can be fun to shoot, but I would opt for a low stretch string to get the best performance and the least thump/vibration. My buddy has on that will shoot with a lot of laminated bows, so take it for what it is. They are almost indestructable, save for those plastic tips. Modern low stretch strings can make a completely different animal out of those old fiberglass bows. In all honesty, no more than fifty bucks if it's in great shape.

Don't know how much is a fair price but my first bow was a Paul Bunyan fiberglass longbow. My cousin bought 4 fiberglass bows at a flea market in 1974 upstate NY for $2. That bow is still up at my uncle's place and some of his grandkids still use it. Probable damn near indestructible

Paid 10 bucks for mine,Frisky thought I was nuts, said he wouldn't pay 25 cents for a barrel full of them,so he has came up a little.

Where Can I get a bow string for my Paul Bunyan 600. I got this one for Christmas when I was about 15 years old. I am now 78 and it has been unstrung for about 40 years. Thanks and God bless all

They can be fun. Specially for bow fishing and frog hunting where the bow can be tossed around a boat or rocks on shores. Or hunting. Very affordable way to get someone into the sport.

Ask the Hog “Killer” Pat. He has taken a god with a 70# Green Bunyan.

That was with a 300. Great bow, but I have a 100 that is smoother, and another on the way. Hard to imagine any glass bow being better than the 100.

Glen Sr, you can get a string from Alan Schafer at TenRing Strings. I prefer Fast flight strings for the all fiberglass bows. Just a gentle thump on the release.

A cheap entry level bow but they work and last forever. >>>----> Ken

Don’t listen to Frisky, he hunts with a steering wheel. :)

A really great solid glass bow is the Bear 76er. Otherwise, I'd buy a Bunyan.

Are these fiberglass jobs still being made? When I was a boy , my dad and I were canoeing down the little Miami with the intentions of shooting some carp, when a root rolled the canoe and our fiberglass bows went for a swim. I've always wanted to replace them.
