I just ordered a recurve from Mike Rash ( legends bows) how many people shoot or have shot Mikes bows? Pictures, likes, dislikes?

Thanks Justin

Justin, Mike makes a great bow. Located in California, he really sells many of his bow at west.

Met Mike a few years ago at the IBO Trad World at Twin Oaks in Clarksville, TN. You want meet a finer gentleman in my opinion.

Mike also donates one of his outstanding bows every year for my Boy Scout Camp raffle.

This year he donated one of his new designed take down longbows. The guy who won it, help it up, said, "this is the bow I'd like to win, bought tickets and put every one of them in the bucket. He won the bow and had an absolute fit over winning Mike's bow.

I don't think you'll go wrong with one of Mike's bows.

A little late to get opinions now since you ordered one. Did you handle one before placing your order? Hopefully it will fit you well and you will love it.

I know it's a little late for opinions and no I did not handle one wish I could have. There are not really a lot of trad guys around my area ( that I'm aware of) I spoke with mike on the phone for quite a while. I looked at pictures of his grips and bows ) I know pics don't tell the story) but that's what I had to go with. I heard someone say you can learn to shoot any bow. Hopefully that is true. Mostly though I bought into Mike. I have spoken with a number of different bowyers and mike definitely stood out. The first time I spoke with him he was like an old friend. We talked about archery, hunting and even our wives I spent an hour on the phone with mike the first time only 10-15 minutes of which was about me ordering his particular bow. The price of a legends bow is also phenomenal (IMO) Especially for all the choices and customization he offers. Again I guess I mostly bought into mike himself. Just hoping to hear from some people who own or have owned his bows.

I worked with Mike till he was injured in an auto wreck & was forced to retire. He was hit by a doper who was driving in the wrong lane. Mike is a great fellow & builds a pretty good bow, well a very good bow. I have shot with him many times, I think Mike apprenticed under Tim Meigs.

I wouldn't be afraid of his bows at all.

I've also been a friend of Mike's since he was a kid, his grandfather and I were friends. In fact it was his grandpa who signed my first bowhunter education instructors card in the late 70's or early 80's Mike is a craftsman, and knowing him if your not satisfied I'll bet he will make it right. Why does it say Bowyer, Bryce Stoskopf on the website, is Mike not the bowyer anymore ?

Adam, Bryce is Mikes step son. After spending hours on the phone with Mike (he loves to talk archery and I've learned a lot from him) I gather he has taught Bryce to build the bows and will take over the business. Mike works along side Bryce and after speaking with them I too ordered a bow!!! He is a very genuine bowyer and not only is he passionate about archery and building...but finding out who "you" are and what makes you, the shooter, the happiest! - DCH

Mike is also a great shooter. I think that's why his bows are so good.

Mike is a great guy, I have a Safar1 Elite it's a great bow. But,,, #1 it's heavy I would rather have one of his longbows #2 it's long when I ordered mine every bow he made was 64" and you couldn't get anything shorter #3 the finish is nasty !!! it's cracking chipping and flaking off the bow. I already talked to Mike I can have that fixed anytime I send the bow in. the limbs are fantastic and the antler button knobs look awesome. Over all except for the finish it's a great target bow but I would not use it as my go to hunting bow.
