This is a later model (Gainesville) Super Kodiak. I always love the way it shoots for me, but never liked the looks. I have tried a few different things to improve the appearance , but didn't like any. I think i like this paint job. what do you think?

P.S. I wouldn't dare do this to my Grayling Bear's. I do have to say that i think this is my favorite shooter out of all my bows.

Good job man. Should be invisible in the woods.
And I agree, wouldn't do it to my Grayling SK either. But you could get 'um from Bear in a camo finish new back then. So don't be surprised if you see one some time. ;~)

Good job and a big improvement by the way. I painted most of my bows in the 60s and 70s with no ill effects. The BowDull paint came off easily.
I like that style of paint better than dipping which is too busy for me.

swamper - i used a small " Y " shaped stick. I painted the whole bow solid black, then layered different earth tone colors while turning the stick in different directions as i sprayed. When i got the look i wanted i put a real light coat of black over top to give it kind of a shadow effect. Finished it off with about 6 coats of spar urethane. I also shaved the shelf down closer to my hand, and added the rubber grip.

Looks great and i agree...i would never do a grayling vintage bow. I've always wanted to dip a one piece....a dipped bow has that done at the "factory" look that you can't get with spray paint.
Thanks for sharing.
