Folks, it is now official. There will be a "Pre-Spring Arrow Fling" at Tannehill Historical State Park in Alabama the 27th & 28th of February, 2010.

There will be twenty five 3-D targets for a fun multi- round format. Awards will be given out on Sunday the 28th. Vendors are certainly welcome and everyone can set up anytime before the weekend.

Folks, this will be a really fun shoot, and for those of you that attend my Howard Hill Southeastern Classic, you know the camping facilities are fantastic. For those of you who don't camp, there are plenty of great motels within minutes of the Park.

There will be a huge fire ring blazing during supper for all of our hunting season's lies........I mean stories. I'll also be providing a delicious homemade chili supper Saturday night, free of course. There'll also be hot apple cider and hot chocolate for everyone.

Folks, we've had some beautiful weather late in February here in Alabama, plus, NO BUGS!!!. Great weather for camping.

That's some pretty good news, Terry. More shoots is more better. Your shoots are always great fun.

But...(and don't take this as bitchin', just fyi), now both of AL's spring shoots are during highly anticipated, extremely short hunting seasons. There's only 4 weekends in rabbit season (that we don't have to worry about dog shooters), and there's only four weekends of turkey season in much of the state. Half of those weekends will be cold and wet, so......

So, like I told Abe about ASTB's April shoot: Sorry, those dates are no good for us folks that value small game hunting as much as we do deer hunting. I'd just as soon have you schedule a shoot in November or December, (but early March would be ideal).

I REALLY do look forward to shooting with y'all in June, tho. See ya then.

I appreciate your input Buzz. But, November as well December provide excellent deer hunting around the southern states. As for March, TBOF's Spring Shoot, ASTB's Spring Shoot and at Tannehill there is Trade Days the 3rd weekend. We'll miss ya in February but we'll be glad to see ya at the Howard Hill SE Classic.

I plan on being there, but I am not going to camp out. There is something about sleeping in a bed, having electricity, hot and cold running water and flush toilets that I have gotten quite fond of in the last eight or nine years. I think I might actually be getting middle aged. Bill

Its Getting Closer!

Just talked to my Grandson, and he is on the fence. His Dad has lured him to the dark side with a compound bow, so I have my work cut out for me. If I can get him there I think we can hook him for life. It would be nice to see that wheelie bow get an early retirement.

David, if you can get him here, he'll have a great time. Then get him to the Howard Hill Classic, he'll then be hooked for life. Especially with all that'll be going on at the HH Classic. I be there with some stuff in the back of the Black Mazda Truck. I have a new batch of Lefty bows(14) and a few righties(5), furs,knives custom/retail, arrows/components, parallel grizzly stik shafts and fletched arrows(heavy carbons). Not 100% sure I'll be attending now. Dropped the tongue of a 500 lb trailor on my foot and tore it up pretty good. Doc said he thinks I fractured the second metatarsal, but I'm goin back Monday for another xray after some of the swelling goes down. I'm hoping to make it to visit with everyone but probably won't get to make a round. Have a safe trip and I hope to see y'all there.
