The Phillips crester was designed and built by Kurt
Phillips. Kurt's dad Dale was the first bowyer that
Howard Hill hired to build bows for him. It does make
cresting much easier because it doesn't spin the
arrow by the end of the shaft, it is actually turned by a
series of wheels on either side of the crest. This
transfers any runout in the shaft to the ends, which
allows the area to be crested to turn wobble free.
