Ok guys, sorry for the delay but yesterday was pretty hectic! Managed to pick up that long tube from the post office, and at least drool over the contents for a little while before heading back to work. Inside was "EL Tigre" and A BIG SURPRISE!!!

First here's a couple of pics of "EL Tigre" for ya...what a beauty. The draw is soooo smooth it's unbelievable! Brown glass back over tempered bamboo with the natural boo belly, and a really nice Myrtle riser, 65" and 56@27.

And now for the surprise! Can yew say B'Yew'T! Say hello to "Lionheart". 66"s of beautiful Yew, brown glass back and belly, and a gorgeous Myrtle riser, 57@27. I wasn't expecting this masterpiece until late in the year, but Nate snuck it in on me and almost gave me a heart attack when I unwrapped it! I'll get some more pics and put them and my shooting impressions in a dedicated thread over the next couple of days...once I get my pulse rate under control that is!

Nate built this yew bow as a favour for me, to replace the Schulz "The Favorite" bow that I had to sell last year, to help fund my son's adoption. I really loved that bow, and hated to let it go, especially since I knew I would probably never get another one, but Nate has come through for me in a grand way!

The really nice thing about it is that this bow is everything the Schulz was, and even more! This one was specially made for me, so it's the right length, weight at my exact draw, and the grip is the perfect size...it's prettier too!

I can also shoot modern strings on it which is something I couldn't bring myself to do with the Schulz...piece of history and all that.

Got to take her outside for just a few minutes today (work is so taking away from my bow shooting time) snap a few pics, and get a good feel for what she's made of.

As Jackie Gleason would say, "How sweet it is"! The only thing comperable that I can compare it too is my bamboo "White Dragon", and the Schulz that I had so here goes. It feels almost as smooth as the Dragon, and it's almost as fast, with just a touch more thump at the shot. The difference is not a whole lot...just enough to be noticeable. The yew definately gives a different feel vs. the bamboo, but I love it!

As compared to the Schulz - it has less thump, is just as stable, and seems to be just as fast even though it's 4 lbs. lighter in draw weight!

I need to get with the fine tuning but it fits me to a tee, and I couldn't be happier! A BIG thanks to Nate for building me a very special bow! I'll get to the review of the glass backed bamboo one this weekend!
