longbowhunter, that is some absolutely fabulous splicing and detail cresting work. The best I have ever seen in person has been done by Jim Rebuck and yours ranks right up there. Where in the world do you find the time!

Flat out Great Work!!

Somebody has definitly got some time on their hands! I`ve done feather splicing, but that`s farther than I`d care to take it. Wish I could figure out how to do the marbled crown dips though!

From: Savage
Date: 10-Mar-11

Let me wipe the drool off my chin. How long does it take you to make a dozen of those?

From: longbowhunter
Date: 10-Mar-11

The time is kinda split up seal, paint, clear coat. I'll do the first seal dip and let it dry over night. Then the dip cap let that dry about 5 hours Then onto the crest I can have that done in about An hour or less, Then another clear dry over night again. The fletching is what takes the most time . after cutting my feathers to the size I need It will take me 3 solid hours fletching. Then the single accent inlays that's another Hour. Next is the burning of the feathers, 15-20 minutes Quick clean up of the feather edge and glue On the feather fronts!

So how long does it take me to do up A dozen shafts.......... I can have a dozen carbons done in about 8 Hours that's all day at the archery desk! Cedars are a different animal But I can have a set done in a weekend.

Ron I think I read everything but could not fine what kind of paint you are using. I cap with spray paint and sometime have problem with loosing fletching from the paint not bonding. I do the usual clean the shafts and sand paper cap area.

From: dire wolf
Date: 15-Apr-11

Well, longbowhunter, THOSE are without a doubt, some of the finest looking arrows I have seen in over 50 years..:)

I noticed the old Bitzenberger Fletchmasters in the background..:)Looks LW helical ..

IF your attention to weighing, spine and straightness rival your artistry, ALL those arrows belong in a museum..:)

Amazing talent all the way around! Jim

From: Byron

Those are very incedibly nice looking arrows. What paint and clear coat do you use? Any chance you would do a tutorial? If my arrows looked half as good as your I would be happy, those arrows are beyond beautiful.

From: RckyMtn Joe
Date: 03-Sep-11

It has already been said many times up above, but those are all very, very nice. You do great work. And if someone gets their "feelings" hurt at the sight of a carbon or aluminum or fiberglass arrow, well, that's just too bad.
