Cravotta brothers. Made in Mckeesport, PA not sure of spelling. If i remember correctly the first or first two numbers indicate year. I have a few and like them.

The "Bee" was indeed made by Cravotta Brothers, Blackhawk Archery, in East McKeesport, Pa. The Bee and the Short Bee were a mid-line hunter that was very affordable to the average wage earner back in the day. I believe the Bee was mostly made from solid maple (riser) with maple laminated limbs and dark glass. They were relatively plain for the time, but were very good shooters.

I like the lines and that they were plain. Don't get me wrong I like nice woods but there is something beautiful in their simplicity. Only thing I noticed in the older ones was a bit of hand shock, but maybe a heavier arrow or a string with more twist would help that.

Mine has white glass on the belly and maroon on the back. If I can get the pic to come up, you will notice the number 657 above the serial number, indicating that it was made in June of 1957.

Got a Bee in a fifty pounder. Mine has the red glass. Simple and effective as looks goes. Mine is braced at 8.5 and is a shooter.

That is an early one. The Bee took on a much larger riser in the 1960's.
