A friend made this mountain dulcimer for me from a piece of cherry harvested from a storm-killed "yard tree".
It plays as pretty as it looks, and I thought a few of you bowyers might like an idea for something to do with your spare pieces of Cherry after you harvest a few good staves!

Thanks, Sam.
You've done some pretty impressive things with wood, yourself.

That's a beauty of a big dulcimer - nicely finished too.

Thanks guys. It's fun to play something that was made by a friend, from materials at hand. The extra history changes the "feel" of the instrument for me.
The same is true for many of the bows I've been fortunate to collect.
