Was thinking of ordering on to mess with. They come with carbon arrows. Anyone know how the arrows are spined? Are they they sent same regardless of poundage?

They are a 500 spine.

I got a 40 lb and the arrows were 500 spine. I have lots of arrows so I didn't even use the ones that came with the bow. I got it to abuse and leave in the truck so it's handy when I have a few minutes in a lot or field with a couple of judos. So not to risk my much more valuable bows. I was very impressed and hope you will also be. I can't believe the bang for the buck. The handle is good for me and dead in the hand after the shot. It came with d97 string but the small overlay is only wood. It won't bother me a bit though. I plan on shooting it til it shows ill effect that I don't expect any year soon. It's also quite attractive wood.

There are good review videos on YouTube, the arrows provided are heavier than typical carbons

All the reviews say it's an outstanding bow.Might just get one myself.Jeff Phillip's of Instinctive Archery say's it's the fastest recurve he's ever shot.

I bought one, a beautiful bow but the limbs were so out of tiller that the nocking point needed to paper tune it to a bullet hole through the paper was more than an inch above square from the shelf. The top limb had a good bit of twist in it as well.

I sent it back.

I think the Great Northern Bow company is buying these bows, correcting the common tillering flaws in them, turning them into great performing bows and selling them at an increased cost.

Another thing, the arrows that come with the bow are junk, straight fletched, very heavy and some of them are not even close to straight.

I have a black hunter bow as well that is twice the shooter of the X8 I bought.

I bought the X8 after watching Jeff's video, the company sent him bows to try out. Perhaps they sent him first class bows to make sure he gave them a good review.

Being a bowyer myself it is hard to slip a flawed bow past me.

One of the guys from my club bought one and let me try it. The grip area was to short for my liking. It reminded me of a Howatt Hi-Speed grip, which "I" don't care for. Once we got it tuned, it shot Very Well for him, with "his" arrows. The ones that came with the bow, not so much, constantly had a High and left tear (through paper) of varying heights with the same string nock setting, that with his arrows, he was shooting pretty much bullet holes with that same setting. Could have been arrow nock fit? If I remember right, the arrows that came with the bow, the nocks were small and fit tight to that factory string. The limb tips of the bow only have wood overlays, no Micarta overlays. Nice looking bow, shot very well for him, once we got done playing with it. DANNY
