I have one done in a full shoulder mount. I think the taxidermist embellished the tusks and the tongue is plastic, but I still like it!

Yeah, I'll never pay for a shoulder mount again. I like them, but my money is better spent elsewhere now days, and I kinda like euros anyway.

I've seen them done with the tusks pulled. I usually know it right off when I see it. I made sure these were bottomed out in the socket when I glued them. No embellishments here.

I’m with you on the Euros, Rick! I always thought I’d want one nice specimen of each species— if I were ever to get a nice enough specimen…. which I have yet to do, really. But I don’t regret not having spent the money, especially since we have nowhere to pit one anyway ;)

I don’t feel too bad about my DIY Euros collecting dust in the garage, but I’d be kicking myself pretty hard over a shoulder mount! Just seems like a lot of funds to have tied up. I guess I figure there are a lot more memories to be had in the trips and licenses which could be paid for with what you would spend on taxidermy to preserve memories of a hunt you’ve already taken.

I had two pigs mounted but with the rising costs of taxidermy euro mounts are looking better and better.

I even did a couple euro mounts on bucks I killed. Euro mounts can be made to look really nice. I've been thinking about learning to camo dip so I can do skulls.

Here is one of my Black Bear euros. I need to mount it on a nice plaque.

Folks are painting and dipping to make more Art like. All kinds of things out there these days.

This one needs more cleaning, but to be honest - I like the natural look way better than I do the bleach white look.

Natural enhances contrast, and to me "contrast" enhances the image.

I like the film dip stuff too. That adds lots of "contrast".

Besides camo dipping another option is scrimshaw like my tusk I won at a PBS Banquet.

My buck euro is natural. No bleach used. It cleaned up really nice.

I do some scrimshaw myself. Nothing toooo fancy….

I can laser etch both bone, and teeth.

May try doing some engraving on some later on / some day.

I didn't see anything regarding this when I clicked on and read the "Terms and Conditions" located at the bottom of the page just now.

Per Phil, April 14th...."We've all seen times that folks use HTML tags here for italics, bold or to embed links. Pat posted on the Bowsite main forum that this is not permitted. Here is his post -

I don't get it myself, because if you go over to Bowsite and take a look at things, there are lots of you tubes embeded just like Franks.

I'm not sure why it can roll over there, but I don't own the site either.

Bowsite is a totally different, more secure/modern platform. There’s a lot you can do over there that you can’t do here.

my Wife hates all of this! It is even in my man cave and if she comes in, she always says ,why.

My wife has no problems with my bowhunting or my mounts.
