Cane Creek Archery is located in Prairie Grove Arkansas, which is just outside of Fayetteville. They are a Traditional Only club that has one of the best 3D Courses in the US! The club is run by some great people who are doing their best to build traditional archery in Northwest Arkansas. If you can, drop on by, you will not be disappointed.

Sorry, I am not very tech savvy. At any rate, there's a buckle shoot this coming weekend, 2-day affair.

The shoot pic is way too big for this old website...I'll resize it before the original is deleted. I need to make the 3 hour drive and attend one of your fine shoots!

Thank you for resizing it.

It is pretty nice, they have put a lot of work into it. I wish they had more people shooting, so maybe they could split up some of the classes a little more, especially the longbow class, which currently lumps all longbows into the same class, regardless of whether it's a Hill style ASL or the most modern recurved handle Shrew or Elkhart with a center shot handle and pistol grip. But it's still fun and good practice for me.

I currently shoot my Northern Mist Classic in the longbow class. And also just started shooting the selfbow class.

I have been to a few shoots in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, and Tennessee...the Classic is the best shoot I have ever seen. That being said...the Cane Creek shoot targets look really close to those in Tennessee. Great job! I used to go to Prairie Grove FFA events...it's very cool, but long drive for most.

Great guys and great setup. Last year they added bathrooms in place of porta-potty and this year they added a nice building/pavilion. They also continue to improve the trails each year. The trails are clear but mostly wooded so even in the summer it is not too bad. It would be hard to find a nicer setup.

Looking into it, notice the big screen TV for showing scores and such. It has a grill, a merchandise area a full sized fridge and more.

New set up this year is the Raptors, all new targets. This is not the final just one they were toying with.

9 hr 33 minute drive for me. Is there a spot to hang hammock for overnight?

From: Lastmohecken

I am not sure if there are any actual camping spots, but if you was to call David, I think you could probably work something out. His phone number is the one on the schedule above.

Very nice course. Very nice facility and especially very nice folks. Those Aliens are hard to hit too :)

Yep, and that Black bear in the barrel is hard for me, for some reason. and the Turkey, and the rams. I went today for practice, they will let members shoot on Wednesday. They have a bunch of dinosaurs up, now, and they are a little tricky.

Yep, my nephew and I went over to Cane Creek, today, and shot the course, just for practice. Had a good time and got to David and Ronnie who run the place.

David gave me a plaque for second place in the selfbow class from the last shoot. I knew at worst I had scored second place in the last shoot, but I didn't know if they paid second place or not. I didn't know it at the time, but they had changed the rules last shoot and allowed people to shoot as many times as they wanted to, for score. The guy that beat me for first, shot three times and finally edged me out, on his third try. (: But that's ok.

That was first time competing with my selfbow, which I had only bought a few days ago, so I was tickled that I shot as good as I did.

I trashed to arrows today, which I can't spare, hardly. But at least one was a Robinhood, so I guess if you have to ruin an arrow, that's the way to do it.

Thanks for the replies back, not sure if I'll be able to break free for the drive up there.

My buddy Andy and Cheryl will have a booth there. Feathers and Wood stop by and say hi. Great people!

Ok, great, I will look for their booth

Nevada did they replace some targets with dinosaurs or did they add more targets overall?

From: Lastmohecken
Date: 26-Apr-24

They did a little bit of both. They added dinosaurs in a couple of places, if I remember correctly. The other day when I shot, they had not put the stakes in the ground yet, for those targets, so I don't have a clue as far where you would be shooting from.

They moved the buffalo a little bit, added some antelope and moved a few other things around. They weren't done yet. But yes, there will be a few more targets. Not sure how many, but at least 30 or more total, I would say.

From: Lastmohecken
Date: 26-Apr-24

Maybe even 33 targets or more.

Nice looking club and course, enjoy it in good health!
