i bought a brand new one in around 1993-1995 , the serial number is esd 5503
|

You gotta show pics in order to get a date. Too many different versions were made to give you a date just by the serial number.

Yup. The first digit will generally get the right year, but you need to have pics of the riser to get to the correct decade.
My old Hunter has a serial number starting with zero, as it was built in 1990 from the brown Actionwood; serial number 5503 should be the 503rd built in 1995. If 8176 looks just like 5503, it is almost certainly a ‘98.
So we’d need pics of one or both….

Does the bow have an Indian rosewood riser, a zebrawood and action wood riser or a laminated ovangkol riser?

Mine is “ESD 7400”. MP stated that indicated the 400th bow made in 1997. But, he also had pictures to look at.
