I just purchased a pair of new Bear limbs. The string does not lay in the center of the string grove on the upper limb but off to the right side a little

Any opinions?

Post a picture so we can see what it looks like.

Either the groove is miscut off center or the limb is twisted. If a little too much material is taken off one side of the limb near the bend/tip during shaping, it will cause the limb to bend toward the weak side. Usually can't fix that by bending the limb in the opposite direction. May need to return the limbs. It's possible, though unlikely, that the limb somehow is misaligned in the riser, but the limb alignment hole should prevent that from occurring. Pics would be helpful.

They honor the warranty.

I had the same problem a few years ago with a super kodiak. Beat immediately replaced the limbs. Contact Bear.

David, they replaced the limbs on a Super Kodiak?

Maybe just twist it back by hand a bit. Most don't know how to actually check center of limbs and string

"David, they replaced the limbs on a Super Kodiak?"

Nice catch, grizz!! Duh, no the whole bow. My mind is mush today.

I thought that would be the hard way around the problem.

I checked the groove and it is in the center of the limb. Might be what Orion mentioned.

I have another pair of Bear limbs that line up straight, so I don’t think it’s the riser.

Twist the limb to the left and hold it.

Look at those string grooves, it appears the one on the left is cut slightly deeper towards center, that’s why it is tracking towards the right of your picture, I’d cut the right groove a hair deeper towards center and it’d fix the issue I believe

I would send them back, you didn't pay $400. for defective limbs. Once you file it, it's yours.

I definitely won’t be modifying the limbs. After getting a chance to try a couple of strings and shoot them more, I am convinced that they have a twist.

I be returning them.

Thanks for your input

Yepper....if they are new I'd be sending them back.
