I been trying to bare shaft tune over the last month. Getting a lot of weak readings regardless of what I try and have tried everything imaginable concerning the arrow bow combo.

Bows a Bear TD 43@28” Arrow is a 2016xx75 D-97 string Draw length is roughly 28”

it’s definitely me but can’t figure out exactly what I am doing wrong other than I took to long off from shooting regularly.

Have tried to address the most common mistakes like grip , plucking etc.

What are the more common form/shooting Mistakes that lend toward a weak arrow reading?

You didn't state what weight point or arrow length. Are you going by nock angle in the target or where the bare shaft groups in relation to the fletched shaft. The cause would be different based on your answers. >>>----> Ken

I agree with Ken.

As Ken kind of mentioned...define weak.

If your nock point is to low that can cause the shaft to deflect off the bow as weak as well.

You’ve jumped in deep rabbit hole buddy !

Watch your finger pressure, light weight bows are sensitive to it. I need a good deep hook on the string.

I shoot a Bear TD #43@28, 2016 is too stiff, however my draw is 27", so I'm pulling about 40 lbs. If we don't know if you are right or left-handed and are your arrows hitting left or right, we can't help. Also what B.T. said.

Try alot heavier field point and see what happens. You can eliminate a false weak reading from a too stiff arrow bouncing off the side of the bow. Can't hurt and it's quick and easy.

2016 would normally be stiff with your specs, not to complicate things for you, it can be frustrating, 1916 may be friendlier

Yes stiff is more likely.

That’s a stiff arrow for that dw, it’s pretty hitting the riser and giving you a false reading, do you have any limber arrows to try? I bet it’s stiff not weak.

I'm with Tomas. I have several Bear limbs in that range and 2016s are too stiff unless they are full length with heavy points. I shoot 1816s or 600s cut 28 3/4" with 150 grain points and they fly well.

It doesn't surprise me that the Bears' seem to take a lighter spine. On the three Bear risers I own is that if you put an arrow on the string and look down the shaft with the string centered on the riser the point of the shaft seems to be an inch to the left of the string. On my ILF bows where I can adjust the sideplate I set up the arrow with the right edge riding the string.

David my 42# limbs that I got from you shoot perfectly with 1816's and 600 spine carbons at my 28" draw. 50g insert with 145g tip. Arrows are 29 1/2". I would think 2016's would be stiff.
