I've been thinking about investing in a Spin Rite cresting machine, and was wondering if you can crest tapered shafts the same way you would crest parallel shafts?

It will be the last cresting machine you will ever need. I follow his video on using the machine to spray the cap on the shafts as well. No more dipping.

The primary advantage to tapered wood shafts is that the tapered end is much rounder (more round?) than the rest of the shaft. This makes it much easier to get crisp, even cresting lines. You won't notice the taper in your crester.
