Hi FOLKS, YESSS! I know that plastic vanes are NOT in the spirit of Traditional ARCHERY but I have constant problems with those AC-CURSE-ED moths (?) or feather eating bugs! GRRRR! Anybody have a source for 5-1/2 SHIELD CUT,good quality plastic vanes? MERCY BOW-COUP!

Never heard of such things. Wonder if moth balls would help with the feather eaters.

I sprinkle a little powdered borax in with my feathers.. No problems since . Codjigger

Borax keeps the bugs out the feathers.

They used to make 5” vanes years ago but these modern wheel bows like them itty bitty vanes. As for your bug issues you may consider some kind of bag to cover the feathered part of your arrows and put moth balls in it. Maybe get an arrow case to store them in. The cost of one of those plastic arrow boxes will pay for itself considering the price of decent feathers these days.

a light spray with Premetherin once a year

I also do the same on my closet with wool and mounts -just a light fogging
