Hello all,

Long time since I have posted. I have a mint '69 Kodiak Mag 42#. I have a 29" draw, and have always shot a 52# bow. I need to work up some arrows for this one due to shoulder injury. What spine should I start with? 400? 500? I don't have any of those lying around, so I only want to buy once... I have always shot GT traditional shafts out of previous bows. Thank you all! Hyde

500 or 600 I have a #47 K Mag that shoots 30” 2016s , 500s well.

For yours I would try GT traditional 600s with standard inserts or 500s with heavy inserts or tip weights.

600 gold tips have always worked well for me with low to mid 40# bows. Usually standard inserts and 125 grain tips.

Hyde, are you wanting a specific length? Or just long enough? Flexible with head/tip weight?

Steve

Thanks all.

Steve, no specific length. Just trying to find a good starting point. I am open to any suggestions. Weight/spine/length a combo of them all...

600.

Mr. Stout is spot on, recommending the 600.

I'm shooting 45 to 52ish from several different recurves. I bought Big Jim's 600 Dark Timbers at ETAR in July.

I cut mine at 29". I draw 27 with my recurve. I used the 100gr. brass insert and 150 field point. They fly perfect.

Thanks all! I was looking at the Big Jim shafts as well. I will get some ordered up. Hyde
