This is by no means an official Ojam thread Just a question.

I’ve never been to a Ojam &I’ve never built an Osage self bow only a couple Hickory bows. If a guy goes to a ojam , can he pay for a Stave and sit through a tutorial?

I am about two hours north east of Stillwater. I thought it would be a fun weekend.

You can sign up for the bow building class and they will take you threw the entire process while you work on your stave. There is always lots of wood there for sale and most of it is excellent osage. They also have a class for making a BBO bow for those that want to go that route. It is an excellent learning place.

It is a fun weekend. Jerry Stover always has some good staves to choose from. They quit doing the BBO builds because it wound up being the instructors who did the majority of the work.

It sounds to me like you really need to get there Chaz.

I really miss our Michigan meet. It was a fantastic time meeting other bowyers and new lifetime friends.

Great place to get supplies

My only regret was not taking more money. Not that it required it. Just that it was such a good opportunity to get supplies I needed. No shipping and being able to hold it in your hands is really worth a lot.

My wife and grandkids enjoyed it to.

The Tennessee Classic is also a good place to buy a stave and build a bow over the weekend.

Ojam is a very good jam. When you eat it, you say: Ooooo.....jam!

Gun, every year the Oklahoma Selfbow Society puts on a gathering/shoot with camping, selfbow building, flintknapping, vendors, and a 3d coarse set up. Good times for sure.
