If you're a low/not much gear kinda guy, they should be great! Difficult to haul a deer out of the woods on it tho! Guess you could strap the deer on and walk/guide it out.

Thanks for the input I’ve seen deer carts used behind them ~ there’s lots of bike trails in my area that has lots of public land along them sure seems like a good back door way in

1st off you need to know how to ride a bicycle to drive an electric bike. A buddy dropped $800 on an electric bike as shown in one of the above posts to ride around archery shoots, to and from his camper. He got in softer ground and applied just the front brake and over the handlebars he went. He hasn't driven it since. That was two years ago.

I've toyed with the idea until I saw one at a Cabela's last week. The thing looked huge, tires as big as a pickups. Turned me off to the idea.

Make sure you know and follow rules for them on "Public Land" if that's where you intend to hunt. They are motorized vehicles and will be treated as such by the overseeing authority. I know there is a faction in Pennsylvania trying to get them legalized for the trails in State Game Lands, which will probably go through since the PGC opens many of those roads anyway to try to get hunters into the woods. Hunters today are not like the old school guys, they want to ride right up to their stands. And of course there's is always a good reason for that, they will say.
I figure I'll just keep using my legs so they don't become just extra weight on the ride, but I'm only 75 and don't need much help yet. Your mileage may vary.

I will second what PECO stated above regarding looking on Bowsite for Ebike threads, lot's of info over there.
I've never ridden one but from what I've read you really need to do your research before you buy one as they don't all appear to be created equally and they aren't cheap.
Best of luck in your quest!

George they are legal now in PA. And no they aren’t considered motorized vehicles. They are allowed anywhere you can ride a bike most places as long as they are 750 watts or less. Of course some places in the mountains they won’t do you much good but the mile to 1.5 miles of logging roads to get there are another story. Last year I put 80 miles on mine while using it only for hunting purposes. It pulled out 2 buck in a total of 20 minutes which would have been 3-4 hours of dragging.

Well, they are a motorized vehicle, whether classified as one or not. In the long run I suppose it doesn't matter since the majority will prevail...democracy eh? Wonder how long till electric utility vehicles will want their share too...then maybe even electric F-150's? I guess as long as it's not blowing out carbon it will be cool. Yeah, I'm pretty out of touch with modern reality.

We live in that society now George. If you complain about it then you will get it or you can say you are discriminated against. Can not leave anyone out these days. Plus little Johnny has to be able to hunt and get his Pope and Young deer out or he will quit hunting. I use mine to haul deer out. I got tired of hauling out deer by dragging them. I hunt on my land or other private land. I hunt a lot way up in the mtns. It took me 4 hours to get a deer out last year. I even went and got my cart but it didn't help much. I walk to where I hunt but now go back and get the Rokon to bring the deer out. I have killed and dragged enough deer in my time to say I have done it the hard way. I kill too many deer to be dragging them all. You won't need any assistance dragging deer if you never kill any. LOL. I could use my 4 wheeler but it doesn't go where the Rokon does. So far the Rokon has gone right to the deer. Work smart.

In Idaho I’m already seeing them on non-motorized trails, behind gates so hunters can easily get into backcountry with no effort. Although I can see their benefit in some areas I am beginning to believe they’re worst invention since the ATV for hunters.

Not being a smart ass here, but what is the difference between riding a horse back in to hunt and riding a bike? Why is one lazy and one not? Both do the same exact thing. Take your boots off the ground.

I think there is a big difference between riding a horse and riding a E-Bike. I’m not really the type to want to get into a debate on here. I’m just saying I’m already seeing where there a problem here.

In national forests they allow hunters to follow roads normally closed to all but foot traffic, horses, and bicycles for hunting season. They're not allowed off road. And that helps the handicapped tons, but really doesn't do much for others except bring meat out easier. And they leave a much smaller footprint than horses that don't have to stick to roads or trails.

I bought one last summer and love it! I can cover ground much faster to scout and check cameras. Shot a doe this past season with my bike laying beneath my tree. Sure makes it a little easier on my aging body.

I used my fat bike in a few occasions, mind you , is a pedal bicycle , not an e bike. Not uncommon for me to put 20 to 30 km in a morning scout , and even better for the odd overnight here and there. Can carry a lot of gear with ease, and helps you keep in good shape too.

Like a couple people mentioned, rules and regulations will apply (federal, state and local), but it seems like most places are treating the lower class e-bikes like bicycles. It appears there are 3 classes of e-bikes, and the NPS does differentiate and different parks may have different rules, but also as previously mentioned, none allow bikes off trails/roads. I was thinking of biking in to a hiking starting point and I'm pretty sure e-bikes are not allowed on the local bike trails I'm looking at. So you will need to know the specific rules for the public lands and municipalities you hunt.
