Would someone please tell me how to read the nomenclature on Groves bows so I can determine the year they were made. Thanx.

What is it that you want to know?

All manufacturers have some sort of system for their serial numbering. You can look at a Browning and see that the number preceding the letter stands for the year it was made. The other numbers stand for month, what number bow it was that was made, etc. If you know how the company made their numbering system you can determine information. I do not know Groves system, so I cannot derive any information from their serial numbers. Someone somewhere must know how to interpret their nomenclature.

Some Groves bows had consistent numbering but the system changed over the years.

I suspect Harold found that info occasionally useful when talking to his customers, but I don't know how. His bows didn't change much over time.

If you post the numbers on your Groves bow somebody here may be able to help you.
