Just finished these Cedars. Hopefully we will have a 3D season so I can use them. Spray yellow cap, cresting done on my Spinrite, feathers by Ozark. Thought I would try them , I like the shape. The rest of shaft has 6 coats of real Tung oil. Stuff takes awhile to cure especially when it’s not real warm here.

Warm/hot tap water in Tupperware, just enough water to submerge feathers. About a 1/4 cup white vinegar or so, 4 packs wild cherry. Stir mixture. Weight down feathers. Think the vinegar helps set color. Waited 10 minutes or so and pulled out to dry. Was my first go and seemed to work.

Just finished another stone point river cane shaft. I can shoot them at my block target but it really is hard on the target. Like shooting steel broad heads is.
I try not to shoot very much but enough to make sure they shoot right. Shot this one out of the bow I did the build along on. “Big Bad Wolf”.
Pretty good penetration. Point went all the way through from about 10 yards. Shaft straightened out quick with good arrow flight.

Geezer I still haven’t taken a deer with one. I’m hoping to change that soon.
Actually the first time I ever shot a arrow at a deer was with a stone point arrow I made and a selfbow I made. I was shooting from a tree stand and a doe walked right under the pine tree I was in. The angle was pretty steep and although it was a really close shot I missed the sweet spot and hit a little high and to far ahead. Hit bone and arrow only penetrated a couple inches and fell out.
I’ve learned a lot since then. Took two with steel broad heads. Really want the next to be with stone.
Nice arrows Oregon TK

Beautifully spliced fletch.
Riverwolf I’m sorry I didn’t notice your reply about the point you found being such a good match to mine. It certainly is and you are probably in the right place to find both points and flint.
It was very valuable stuff and widely trade . It still is
