Mary and I ventured out yesterday for just the 2nd time in 7 months to an antique store in Edmonds, and I found these knives. A Mexican Bowie with horn inlays; a Soligien serpentine Hunter, with great looking Sambar Stag scales; a Sheffield England fishing knife with pearl celluloid scales and an old Schrade-Walden pocket knife. I’m leaving the large knives as is and will be just sharpening the fishing knife but will clean the S-W all up. Thanks for looking and have a great day! Lance

All nice! For those who haven't used a fishing knife, that's a hook removal tool on the end of the scaler blade. I call it a disgorging tool.

I'd get rid of the horse head, put a nice looking handle on it and you've got yourself a fine looking Bowie.

You know some of those old Mexican knives actually had pretty good steel in them.

I believe I've seen all your threads on you 'knife finds'...I'm most impressed with these four. That Mexican bowie is the cats azz.... Juspassing...wth?!!

Mexicans used a lot of silver to dress up their tools....tools meaning knives, machetes, conchos, spurs, saddles...etc. Don't know if that's silver on the bowie, but very well could be.

If you ever want to part with it...let me know.
