Thanks CD! I call this the stack up. Prove to yourself your first shot wasn't a fluke. Today it was at 18 yards with a 90 degree canted bow, with 4 arrows. Because my quiver can't hold anymore. Shots were made with Thunderchild 50@28 and GT 400's with 300grs up front. Have a good and safe weekend everyone!

Good Morning first shooters and thanks for the week-end call CD.
"Have fun" I'm good at that! :)
Was shooting bare shafts after dinner last night. Thought I'd try 'em from 23yds today. Shooting the 49#ers; RWH & 2215/150s and the H-S & 2213/125s.
Have a great week-end and stay safe.

Good morning and thanks for the call CD.
I've got three bows in contention for elk hunting this fall. My new TradAl in longbow form 60" 47#, My new Harvey Arhery Goshawk recurve 56" 56# and my tried and true Black Widow MA with it's 2bears modified 62" 56# limbs. Trying to decide which to take I have been pitting them against each other. So today's First Shot(s) was three arrows from each and keep the best. Black Widow is still the winner and probably the one I'll take, I've got 30 years on it so hard to beat. As beautiful as that new Goshawk is it is giving me fits. The other two shots form it were all over the place. The TradAl longbow is super consistent but wary of 47# on elk. Guess I'll be spending the rest of the summer in this tug of war.
Be well everyone.

Hey Paul, my friends wife took a elk last year with a 45# long bow. I wouldn't count out your TradAl for elk season. You just might want to build some high FOC arrows for it. You've been shooting it well most of the summer so far. But I can't say don't use your BW. There's something about them. When they fit you, they just point like a laser and hit. Good shooting and God bless.

I hear ya Rodney and I certainly haven't counted it out. I know 47# can do it. Comes down to confidence in my equipment. And true, the TradAl has been neck and neck with my Widow, sometimes better. I have a set 190gr Cutthroats set aside and it may very well be my bow of choice. Right now it is in the lead as far as consistently good shots. A big change for me to get confident with though; being so new to longbow and such a low weight. Thanks for that encouragement. I will keep at it.

Hi first shooters. ya'll off doing somthin else? Good on ya!
Got another Hi-Speed on the way, 'nother '74, a 40#er. So, made a string for it last night, and streached it some today. Put the new string on the 49# Hi-Speed and emptied the quiver from 20 yds.

I only shoot once every week or so lately; must be age. Here’s my first two from 28 yds, and the best of the nine arrows I let loose. Be back in a week or so.
