I recently listed two bows in the classifieds and immediately sold both bows. One to a fella who has extensive history and the other fella had no history at all. My procedure on when to send the bow depends on whether the buyer has history here or not. If the buyer has history here I'll gladly send the bow before payment is received and have even been known to send bows to be test driven before they decide to buy. Never been done wrong. I've sold countless bows to folks here who have no history at all and this last transaction went smoothly again. I often times see posts on here where people are saying "no history no deal". Turns out that there are A LOT of good folks spending time on this site but they never post. The number of GOOD HONEST FOLKS who don't ever post likely outnumbers the folks with history. If you're not willing to sell to someone cause they have no history here you are missing out on sales and communicating with A LOT of GOOD HONEST FOLKS. Thanks to Matthew Wilson and to NJ3finger for a couple good deals and I hope you enjoy your bows.

I've had the same experience. Communicate and use a safe form of payment.

like most of the rest of us ive had great dealings here, and made some friends in the process.

we seem to watch for, and call out anyone that might be a scammer.

thats always a good thing!

i love seeing the threads where someone asks if someone else is safe to deal with, and then those who know and have dealt with them step up and sing praises in their defense, those are the best :)

Got one of my favorite bows from a guy who is only a reader here, so had no history. Called him, within a few minutes, he offered to send the bow before I sent payment. I sent the payment after the call. Sur nuff, a great bow as described showed up on the porch less than a week later. Shot it this morning. :)

I've sold a couple of bows to people with no history and, like you, had no issues. There are a lot of people who enjoy this forum but choose not to post.

I had a man send a bow my way and I sent a personal check his way on the same day, this week. Some folks on here would just as soon not do a deal like that.

How about we just call those folks that browse but don't comment, lurkers? That sounds better if someone says that they refuse to sell to a lurker. Just saying...

I'm glad everything worked out for you. I hope that you never run on to a dishonest man in a deal.

My experiences with Trad folk/Leatherwall members have all been good.

I personally just started reading an buying on here. Both the sales have been great. If the seller were to look me up I wouldn't have any history. Guess I'm a Lurker?

Yep, you've got history, it's short, but still shows that you do more than just read, you post occasionally.

Lurker sounds shady. Think I'll go with Readers.

I've had 2 good experiences on here so far and bought 2 beautiful bows on here. I like to think for the most part the traditional community is a honest community. I don't have much history on here for making posts much. But I for the most part make the First Shooters posts almost daily. I appreciate this group and the community.

I can only say good things about the leather wallers on here. Some trades I made. The guys would throw in extra stuff. Like target points, home made bow string wax, ext. I have bought sold and traded many times on here. All good experiences. I have even had stuff just given to me as well. A bunch of great guys on here. I’m looking forward to my next trade.

I haven't done too many deals here but I have bought a couple and sold a couple on this site. Nothing ever out of the ordinary and have even had pleasant phone conversations when establishing the deal. I sold my last bow here recently and did everything through email and PMs. Reading the weekly scammer alert that pops up on the wall here I always reference the classified ad it refers to just to learn more about what these scams looks like. Some are more convincing than others I admit. They've gotten better at using our lingo and even referencing events and such.
