Stopped off at a garage sale today and picked up this knife set. Forgecraft Hi Carbon. They closed the doors in 68. These originally sold at SS Kresge for $5.83. Kresge became Kmart in 62 but had some stores still open under the Kresge name. Old Hickory knives look a lot like these but I believe the Forgecraft are a bit thicker and better quality. These will work nicely in my deer camp cook set.

T4,

Those are HORRIBLE knives! You shouldn't use them. If you're not very care, they can cut you. I can PM my shipping address if you want to just want get them out of your life. I'm a giver, that way. LOL.

Cool find!

Very nice! If that steel is as good as the 1095 in Old Hickory knives you won't need another kitchen knife the rest of your life.

T4,

Your offer is too kind! I couldn't bear the thought of allowing you to make such a sacrifice. I'm simply undeserving of such kindness. The knives shouldn't be separated from their packaging, although I would certainly cherish such a finely crafted piece of green, 60's-era cardboard in my safe. The utility is virtually limitless - my pet rock, "57 Chevy Hot Wheels, and Slinky would love to rest in it, lol.

Enjoy the nice box, and the knives, I guess :)
