I don't see their bows anymore, hunting bows are gone from the website.

I'm not sure about the company as a conglomerate or whether they are focusing on just a few bows and limbs, more ILF than anything. I wonder if some of the other companys that are offering bows are affiliated with them, but I don't really have the want-to or energy to do the research. :)

From my knowledge, LAS dealt with alot of warranty issues from samick bows and decided to switch to the galaxy line. Im thinking samick revamped the company and decided to stay away from wood risers. I personally had 2 samick wood risers come apart in my hands on the draw. Now their limbs seem to be a different story and are still great shooters.

THe way I understood this is that Galaxy is a company that bought Samick and is producing the Same bows??

So far no trouble with the grandson's Sage so hopefully it will work fine. I've shot many bows over the years and still have an afinity for the old recurves I started with, so that's where we're going in the autumn and winter of my life. I'm keeping two bows, both old models, other than the ones I've already given to my kids and grandkids. Everything else is going away via selling or just giving. Be seventy-five in January, and I got lots of other hobbies I need to get back into...not just archery. Just one lifetime isn't enough. :)

I must apologize George. Ive never heard of any sage problems whatsoever. I was refering to ilf riser issues, which is what i think caused the revamp in the company. Sad, they produced some really nice hunting bows and the sage set a standard which all companies could follow.

pretty sure this is the same Sage-manufactured riser I bought before 3R started selling it and a couple of years after Southwest Archery started selling it (claiming to have improved the cosmetic shape of the riser, which they obviously did after Sage stopped marketing with their brand).

Can't remember where I bought mine (something or other Mountain), but they avoided the red stripe 3R ordered). Beautiful semi-gloss finish.

Mine currently has entirely black carbon foam Sage Discovery Longs, bought from 3R. I may order some 45#...could use more zip .

I like those all black carbon foam limbs more than the technicolor limbs everybody else sells. Foam is supposedly more consistent with changes in heat but I can't claim to have noticed, having shot 3D from 60 deg to 100+ deg.

John from Twig Archery may know the current Samick wood hunting bow story. He has a selection of Sage and Sage Deluxe.
