my old mountain mesa just got here from 3rivers,
picked up a lefty 35#, plan on it being my 3d/groundhog/bow, but if it shoots as good as it looks it may spend some time in the deer woods this fall (poundage is legal in my state)
have not shot it yet cause i need to find my toothpicks for under the shelf lol
the stock string looks like it was made for a recurve not a longbow,
but....... barry to the rescue lol
had a stilldub in the mail on its way for it before i bought the bow lol :)
fit and finish seems great, worlds better than i was expecting for under $300.
oh and did i mention its freaking gorgeous? lol
anybody else have one?
is there anything you like/dont like about it?

Gorgeous? All I see is text.
Is it the 64" Old Mountain Mesa Longbow with a little reflex/ deflex in the limbs?

Nice stick, a lefty even. 64" and 35# makes a nice all day shooter. Those limbs are super for what you paid for it. Congratulations.

Ditto what Gray Goose Shaft said---he and I will likely be in a bidding war if you get tired of it. A buddy of mine has one and it looks and shoots great---even with the stock string. It tuned easily and he really put it on us at the 3D shoot.
His has a red accent at the thumb locator and I nicknamed it the Woodpecker bow.
As an aside, your bow should have plenty of power for the whitetail woods. Due to a form change I have since recovered from :} I was drawing around 26" a couple of years ago and that took my bow weight down around that weight---the bow still put the whitetail down.
Hope you enjoy the new bow.

If you draw 28" and shoot about a 400 grain with sharp two blade, I'm here to tell you two bucks last year thought it was too much bow!!!

I have a Mesa II and it shoots great. It's very quiet and smooth. I've been very happy with it. But i personally think the Mesa has a nicer wood pattern.

well,
i threw a thin leather sideplate on, and used the hair rest they sent with the bow, tied on a couple eyeballed nock points, and took about 15 shots at 10yds.
used some 470gn woodies i have setup for my 35# sage copy (pse nighthawk).
first shot with a bare shaft was dead level and just a hair weak dead center of my target :) :) :)
grip is smaller than it looks in the pictures, and fits my hand to perfection!
i think im in love lol

and i was on the fence between the mesa and mesa II,
may pick one up in the future.
in the end it was the clear glass and riser wood that made my decision lol.
the bearpaw slickstick is also on my radar :)

Gray Goose Shaft- hahaha dig it brother :) cause you cant have this one ;) lol hahaha
i shot it alot last night and today,
threw some rabbit fur zonker strips (fly tying section) on it last night, and i have to say,
this dude is pretty QUIET.
and thats with the factory FF string, which like i said has huge loops better suited for a recurve.
if theres any hand shock its no more than any of my recurves..... Which is basically next to nothing.
and have to mention the finish again....WOW....for a bow of this price....WOW x2
its the perfect sheen i guess you would say lol
not mirror polished, not matte, polished satin maybe??
whatever it is, its IMO very very well done.
