Howdy gang First of all thanks to all of you that posted warm messages regarding my uncle’s passing. That was much appreciated and very cool. Like the song says you find out who your friends are. I have a lot of them here, thanks.

Second, fall shows are canceled. Not one event I had booked looks like it will happen in 2020. We had a great and busy start to 2020 and it was gonna be a great year but things change. But at the end of the day you count your blessings and know God is in control. He’s got a plan. I trust His judgement, 100%.

I have enjoyed great times with my wife and family. The boys and I have truly enjoyed the past twelve weeks. It’s been great fun. We have shared many family meals and family game time. My oldest son is a Monopoly master - he loves that game.

I did get a surprise in the mail recently, Carol Mauch sent me Dick’s Masonic Bible. It contains many of his notes, letters and papers in addition to verses and notes he highlighted. A few of the letters inside were letters I had sent him. It’s in my office where I can see it every day. Another quiet reminder of an old friend. He was a Masonic brother as well as a mentor, trusted friend and someone I truly enjoyed.

Although my personal appearances have been canceled I have been doing some speeches and talks virtually.

Here’s a snapshot of a recent speech, Donald Trump Jr and I spoke to a group of sportsmen and women from across Wisconsin recently. I’ve given some speeches on behalf of the campaign since no live rallies have taken place for me to do a show at. A few years ago Pat, the site owner featured an interview with Mr Trump. He’s an avid Bowhunter and a fan of both compounds and traditional tackle. He uses Hoyt recurves.

Anyway, if there’s enough interest I may do a free live virtual show from my home coming up. It would either be on Facebook live or a zoom type call.

Y’all have a good summer and thanks again for the regards for my uncle’s passing.

I avoided politics. I simply felt it was news worthy on an archery site when an archer gets invited on a national level to be part of a campaign. Also Pat, the site owner, featured Don Jr in an interview on this site a few years ago.

I didn’t say anything about how to vote or who to vote for. I simply am honored to be a surrogate speaker for the President at events. Very cool for a guy that grew up country.

That’s it. No politics. It is pretty cool to have someone that level who’s into traditional archery- that is rare indeed. And Don’t is no photo op hunter and sportsman, he’s a serious big game hunter and archer.

I've shot High Power Rifle with Don Jr. He was a good competitor. I also understand that both he and his brother have ACS bows built by Adcock years ago.

Those few of you who are stirring this pot especially you Thor. Did you not read the top of the thread DEBATE FREE. I see nothing wrong with this post. He didn't try to push anything on anyone. Just spoke of an interview. Which was archery related and last time I checked this site was archery related. Next time check the OP wishes for a debate free topic.

Guess what I discovered today ?!? It was very cool. My iPhone has a bunch of old voicemails, many of them from the late Dick Mauch. Some are A few years old and they are long... so very cool. I may video tape them just so i have a duplicate copy.

Fellas, with all that’s going on in the world today - from covid to protests, an archery thread is about the silliest thing we could argue about. I kept my personal politics off the thread and simply mentioned an archery related fact or two about the campaign. Archery related being the key words. Relevant.

And Thor, your comments about Masonry were off target.. way off. I’m a Christian and Mason. Nugent is a good man. And I mentioned Don Jr, not his father.

I’m very familiar with the president’s positions, we receive highlights and talking points weekly. But this isn’t the place for this conversation.

The fact that an archer is doing shows on behalf of the President of the country is relevant. The fact that his son is a very serious bowHunter and archer is relevant to the site.

Hoyt made a Special one of a kind bow for these shows, also relevant.

Lighten up, guys. Don, Jr. is a fine ambassador for our lifestyle. He has weathered countless attacks from the anti's and stands firm. (plus, he shoots a Stryker RK-1 longbow!) I'd be proud to share my campfire with him.

Frank,I agree that this is a archery site only.So let me ask you,and I am sure you realize that politics is a very contentious issue.And that it can easily tick people off.Why dont you just stop talking about politics all together and just keep it one hundred percent bows and arrows.And also stop the thinly veiled connection between your politics and archery ,as an excuse to propagate your political opinions to guys that are here because of there love of archery only.

Hoyt has never made a riser like this. I’m pretty proud of this bow.

Wow, haters will hate! I didn’t think Frank was pushing any agenda, just keeping us posted about what he was doing during this time. Talking to sportsman groups with other sportsman. It’s disturbing to think how some people are just waiting to pounce on something because it involved Don jr.

Thor I label the threads. That way people that don’t like what I post, how I post, whatever can skip over them.

The most interesting thing to me is this. Recently my uncle passed- and there was a thread about his life. So many kind people here- many of these folks that I knew and some I did not- posted very kind things about him and encouraging words. It was very humbling and kind. Very kind.

I noted not one person that typically argues on my threads posted anything. Not that I expected them to. But this thread, like all my threads, was labeled “Addington”. So I think some of you simply like to argue. You pick and choose and whatever I say you take the opposite side.

You can skip my threads or come on them and post your thoughts. Either way I probably won’t change the way I post. And you mentioned Nugent in your earlier post. About a week ago I got a text from him asking me to write the foreword for his newest book. I did. I consider him family. Sadly of my inner circle of Bear people - Fred Bear, Mauch, Lattimer etc he’s the last man standing. All the rest with the exception of Sherwood Schoch are pretty much gone. We have lost far too many archery icons in recent years.

Frank I agree I don't post much on your threads but I enjoy reading them. You said it exactly some people will never post on a positive thread you have going but wait for the right time to slip in their negativity. It's comical to when one doesn't even reside in the country we live in putting his 2 cents in about politics.

George - I am a huge fan but sacrificed it for the boys. They love it. My WV grandmother always made elderberry jelly and It brings back lots of good memories. FDP and I get to argue about politics often. We are night and day but always part the conversations with respect and a smile. Phil the moderator - he’s also of a different opinion. Ha

Yes, Everything Dick Gabe or sent me is treasured. I wear his father’s Masonic ring he gave me in 2010. It’s got to be around 100 years old. Very cool quiet reminder of my friend that I wear daily.

I have checked it out. Unfortunately it's tarnished by all the lies and deception etc.

I feel no need to idol worship questionable celebrities just because I share a thing or two in common with them. I know the old Fred Bear quote you like about great men not having to be without fault. However when a person is mostly faults, they are probably not so great.

That's just me though.

Well, here in America we celebrate our great Republic. I have many friends on both sides of the aisle - and many in the middle. FDP and I don’t ever agree on politics but remain great friends. It’s possible to have debate and a healthy dialog as long as both sides remain respectful and part as friends. Phil the moderator and I also disagree on politics but repeat each other. It works.

Don Jr told me before the election that he had his father’s ear on sportsmen and second amendment issues and he’s shown me to be a man of his word. Since you don’t live in America I assume you judge his words to be lies based on what you read or see in the media.

Anyway, let’s get back to archery. Having respect for someone is not idol worship. Your sharp witted comments don’t go unnoticed but are often ignored.

I have many extended family members in America.

Nice. America is that shining city on a hill. Even with our problems we lead the world. As you can tell there’s a pride here in America, especially here in Texas. It’s a special place and I feel fortunate to live in the land of the free and home of the brave. Thanks to our military, law enforcement and first responders!! And our President.

Now, about archery - let’s talk archery.
